There’s something extra special about hip-hop, especially the raw, social energy that created it: It’s a genre that birthed from a culture as it’s source of inspiration, strength, celebration, and unity. It brought people together and uplifted them in an extraordinary way.
This music isn’t about bragging or boasting. It doesn’t glorify violence, self indulgence or immature behavior. It’s powerful because it resides in the soul of the community: it’s its place of reflection, expression, and social communication. Hip-hop also spreads the message of peace, love, unity, and having fun. It’s about being true to yourself.
Here are a few of some of my favorite hip-hop tracks/videos. I’ll keep adding them in future posts periodically.
