Director Ridley Scott’s upcoming crime drama The Counselor is finally coming to theaters next week! With Scott’s name attached to the project, the film already has plenty of credibility, but the fact that the director has assembled an all-star cast for the picture is even better! Michael Fassbender is leading the film in the role of the Counselor, who gets more than he bargained for when he becomes involved in a drug-trafficking scheme. Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem, and John Leguizamo will also be appearing in the lead supporting roles. The film was written by Cormac McCarthy, who co-wrote No Country For Old Men with the Coen brothers, as well as The Sunset Limited, a film driven by the philosophical discussion of two men (Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones) as they cover their opposing beliefs about history, racism, religion, and a variety of subjects. This has been Scott’s first directorial release since Prometheus in the summer of 2012; he is currently filming his next project, Exodus, based on the biblical story of Moses and starring Christian Bale and Aaron Paul. The film is set to hit theaters in December 2014, but in the meantime, be sure to go see The Counselor next week!
