‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘The Infiltrator’ Opening in Theaters This Weekend

The long anticipated Ghostbusters reboot with Melissa McCarthy (The Heat, Spy), Kristen Wiig (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Martian), Kate McKinnon (Ted 2, Finding Dory), and Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live, Trainwreck) is now playing in theaters nationwide. Director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) has faced some harsh opposition to rebooting the series, but the film is still expected to earn a large haul at this weekend’s box office. Picking up 30 years after the last installment, a new female crew of ‘busters reopens the original location and works to rid New York of its paranormal residents. Original actors Bill Murray (Caddyshack, Stripes), Dan Aykroyd (The Blue Brothers, Tommy Boy), Ernie Hudson (Joy of Sex, The Crow), Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Avatar), and Annie Potts (Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Toy Story) are all expected to make cameo appearances throughout the film, so it should be a pretty fun summer blockbuster. Also opening in theaters this weekend is a new drama from director Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer, Runner Runner) called The Infiltrator. Continue reading

Check Out The New Trailer For The Upcoming ‘Ghostbusters’ Remake

After months of anticipation, we finally have a new trailer for the upcoming Ghostbusters remake with actresses Melissa McCarthy (Spy, The Heat), Kristen Wiig (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Martian), Kate McKinnon (Ted 2, Sisters), and Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live, Trainwreck). The new movie is written and directed by Paul Feig (The Office, Bridesmaids) with co-writer Katie Dippold (MADtV, Parks and Recreation), and takes place 30 years after the original films, when a new group of unlikely heros steps up to save New York from paranormal forces. Original Ghostbusters stars Bill Murray (Caddyshack, Stripes), Dan Aykroyd (The Blues Brothers, Tommy Boy), Ernie Hudson (The Crow, Miss Congeniality), Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Avatar), and Annie Potts (Pretty in Pink, Toy Story) are also expected to appear alongside the movie’s supporting cast, which includes Chris Hemsworth (Thor, The Avengers), Elizabeth Perkins (Big, Weeds), Andy Garcia (The Godfather Part 3, Ocean’s Eleven), and Michael Kenneth Williams (12 Years A Slave, Inherent Vice). The movie won’t be in theaters until this July, but the trailer is available here on MADE. Enjoy!

New Comedy With Tina Fey and Amy Poehler ‘Sisters’ Opening In Theaters This Friday

For those who are boycotting Hollywood’s ‘Re-make Era’ or simply have no interest in sitting in a jam-packed theater this Friday night with a bunch of kids and teenagers trying to see the new Star Wars feature, a new comedy with Golden Globe co-hosts Tina Fey (Mean Girls, 30 Rock) and Amy Poehler (Saturday Night Live, Parks and Recreation) titled Sisters can offer you the perfect alternative! Working with director Jason Moore (Everwood, Pitch Perfect) from a script by Emmy winner Paula Pell (Saturday Night Live, The Oscars), the comedy vets pose as sisters (appropriately) who decide to throw one last party in their old family home before their parents finally sell it. Also making appearances in the film are actors Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids, Inherent Vice), Ike Barinholtz (Disaster Movie, Neighbors), James Brolin (Traffic, Catch Me If You Can), Diane Wiest (The Lost Boys, I Am Sam), John Cena (The Marine, Trainwreck), and John Leguizamo (The Lincoln Lawyer, Chef). I wouldn’t really expect this one to be fall-on-your-ass comedy, but Fey and Poehler are excellent comedic vets and work really well together, so if you’re not in the long line to see The Force Awakens, I would definitely give this one some consideration. Enjoy!

New Drama ‘Mr. Holmes’ Opening In Theaters This Friday, July 17th

This weekend, alongside Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck with Bill Hader and Woody Allen’s Irrational Man with Joaquin Phoenix, movie-goers will also be able to see a literary icon return to the big screen in the form of director Bill Condon‘s new drama Mr. Holmes. Condon (Gods and Monsters, The Fifth Estate) directs Oscar-nominee Ian McKellen (X-Men, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers) in an adaptation of Mitch Cullin’s A Slight Trick of the Mind, that finds a retired Sherlock Holmes toying over an unsolved case involving a beautiful woman and a confrontation with an angry husband. Fellow Oscar-nominee Laura Linney (The Truman Show, Mystic River) and Hiroyuki Sanada (Rush Hour 3, The Wolverine) make up the supporting cast. The trailer is available here on MADE. Enjoy the weekend line-up!
