Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford Are Both Returning For ‘Indiana Jones 5’

jones

Just when we thought we thought it couldn’t get any worse, along comes Walt Disney. The major film studio, which is also now behind the Star Wars franchise and all of the upcoming sequels and “origins” installments, has just announced this week that director Steven Spielberg (Lincoln, Bridge of Spies) and actor Harrison Ford (The Fugitive, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) will be reuniting for yet another Indiana Jones adventure. Indiana Jones franchise veterans Kathleen Kennedy (Back to the Future, Jurassic Park) and Frank Marshall (The Sixth Sensed, The Bourne Ultimatum) will also return to produce the film, which is scheduled for release on July 19th, 2019. There is no word yet as to whether or not Karen Allen (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc, Animal House) and Shia LaBeouf (Lawless, Fury) will reprise their roles of Mrs. Jones and son, nor as to who will be coming on to pen the script, but we’ll keep you posted on further updates.

First Teaser Trailer For Upcoming ‘Pete’s Dragon’ Remake Now Available

A few months back we heard the first whisperings of an upcoming remake of the 1977 Walt Disney classic Pete’s Dragon, and now we have the first teaser trailer for the new movie, which is due out in August. Writer/director David Lowery (Pioneer, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints) adapted the original S.S. Field story with co-screenwriter Toby Halbrooks (Robots Are Blue, Dig) about a young orphan named Pete who goes on extraordinary adventures with his friend, a giant dragon named Elliott. Leading the cast are actors Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help, Jurassic World), Robert Redford (All The President’s Men, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid), Karl Urban (The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Bourne Supremacy), Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games, Interstellar), Craig Hall (King Kong, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug), and Oakes Fegley (This Is Where I Leave You, Prism) as young orphan Pete. This will be the third Disney remake that’s due out this year, at least that we’ve been watching. The first is the new adaptation of The Jungle Book from director Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Chef) coming out this April, and the second is the The Legend of Tarzan from director David Yates (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince), starring Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street, Focus) and Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained, Inglorious Basterds), which is due out in July. The trailer for the new Pete’s Dragon is available here on MADE. Look for more updates on these three movies coming out soon.

First Look At Upcoming Live Action Adaptation For ‘The Jungle Book’

In an age where remakes and sequels are the go-to projects for major film studios, Walt Disney Pictures is keeping itself quite busy revamping their twentieth-century animated classics into live-action thrillers for modern audiences. Their most recent project, which is now playing in theaters, is an updated version of Peter Pan (simply titled Pan) from director Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) with actors Hugh Jackman (Les Miserables, Prisoners), Levi Miller (A Heartbeat Away, Great Adventures), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy, Unbreakable), Rooney Mara (The Social Network, Her), and Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia, Ted 2). While Peter Pan is definitely one of the more famous Disney characters out there, we at MADE have our eyes fixed on next year’s big Disney release: The Jungle Book. Actor-turned-director Jon Favreau (Iron Man 3, Chef) is leading the project, which features an all-star cast including Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation, The Avengers), Idris Elba (Thor, Prometheus), Bill Murray (Ghostbusters, Zombieland), Ben Kingsley (Schindler’s List, Shutter Island), and Christopher Walken (Pulp Fiction, Catch Me If You Can), with Neel Sethi as Mowgli. The film is expected in theaters in April 2016. Check out the latest teaser trailer here on MADE. Enjoy!

Steven Spielberg’s ‘Bridge of Spies’ Opening In Theaters October 16th

Steven Spielberg has been busy acting as producer to a number of projects since his last directorial feature Lincoln in 2012 with features like Transformers: Age of Extinction, The Hundred-Foot Journey, and Jurassic World. But fans will get to see his latest project featuring his Saving Private Ryan and Catch Me If You Can collaborating actor Tom Hanks open on big screens this October 16th. The film is titled Bridge of Spies and follows Hanks as attorney James Donovan, who was recruited to negotiate the release of Francis Gary Powers, a U-2 pilot who was shot down and held prisoner by the KGB under suspicion of espionage during the Cold War in 1960. Filmmaking brothers Joel and Ethan Coen (The Big Lebowski, No Country For Old Men) were brought on to rewrite the original screenplay before principle photography began on the film, which stars Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone, Birdman), Mark Rylance (The Other Boleyn Girl, Blitz), Austin Stowell (Love and Honor, Whiplash), and Alan Alda (MASH, The Aviator). Seeing as it was produced by Walt Disney Pictures, I think that Spielberg intentionally steered away from a lot of Restricted-content (and it did, in fact, receive a PG-13 rating), but with Hanks in the spotlight it should prove a solid endeavor all the same. Last time we heard about this one a poster had just become available via twitter, but now the full length trailer is available here on MADE! Enjoy!

New Poster Available For Upcoming Steven Spielberg Drama ‘Bridge of Spies’ With Tom Hanks

bridge

The upcoming drama from Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan, Lincoln) and Walt Disney Pictures titled Bridge of Spies has just released a new poster to prep audiences for the upcoming October release. Working from a script that was revised for the final cut by Joel and Ethan Coen (The Big Lebowski, No Country For Old Men), Spielberg directs leading man Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, The DaVinci Code) in the story of James Donovan, who negotiated the release of downed U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers, who was being held under suspicion of espionage by the KGB in 1960. Also appearing in the film are actors Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone, Birdman), Mark Rylance (The Other Boleyn Girl, Blitz), Austin Stowell (Love and Honor, Whiplash), and Alan Alda (MASH, The Aviator). With a poster already out and seeing as we’re this far into post-production we should see a trailer release sometime in the near future. My biggest concern is that this is pretty adult-content subject matter for Disney to be covering… hopefully they’re letting Spielberg have most of the artistic control on this one. Stay tuned.

Disney’s ‘Tomorrowland’ With George Clooney Opening May 29th

This May will see George Clooney (Good Night and Good Luck, The Ides of March) return to the big screen in a more family oriented drama from Walt Disney Pictures. Titled Tomorrowland, the film follows Frank Walker (Clooney), who sets out with fugitive Casey to find a futuristic city that exists only in their memories, where anything and everything imaginable is possible. The film comes from writer/director Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) working from a script by himself and screenwriters Damon Lindelof (Prometheus, Star Trek: Into Darkness) and Jeff Jensen. Starring in the film are actors Britt Robertson (Scream 4, The Longest Ride), Kathryn Hahn (We’re The Millers, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), Judy Greer (Love & Other Drugs, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Hugh Laurie (House M.D., Street Kings), and Keegan-Michael Key (Due Date, Let’s Be Cops). Check out the trailer here on MADE, and if you’re a fan of Clooney’s or of Walt Disney movies, go out and see it May 29th!

New Trailer For ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Features First Appearance Of Harrison Ford And Chewbacca

Back during the Holiday 2014 season director J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Super 8) released a teaser trailer for his upcoming and long-awaited sequel to Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now with production well underway and the Christmas 2015 release date slowly (but surely) approaching, Abrams has graced us with a new trailer, revealing some impressive cinematic backdrops linking this sequel to George Lucas‘ original series, and bringing back some familiar series-faces to the screen. Making cameo’s in the new trailer is the droid, R2-D2 (who has appeared in every Star Wars film since the original in 1977), and Han Solo and his Wookie companion, Chewbacca, portrayed once again by Harrison Ford (Blade Runner, Clear and Present Danger) and Peter Mayhew (Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back). Actor Kenny Baker (The Elephant Man, Time Bandits) is also back to play R2-D2, along with Mark Hamill (Slipstream, Midnight Ride), Carrie Fisher (The Blues Brothers, When Harry Met Sally), and Anthony Daniels (Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith). Abrams co-wrote the new film with screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Bodyguard) for Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm Ltd. Fans will have to wait until December 18th, but I’m sure there will be plenty of trailers released before then to appease their appetites!

Film Adaptation Of Broadway Musical ‘Into The Woods’ Opening In Theaters Christmas Day

A new film adaptation of Into The Woods is opening in theaters this Christmas Day, and the movie features an all-star cast that is lead by Anna Kendrick (End of Watch, Pitch Perfect), Johnny Depp (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Alice in Wonderland), Chris Pine (Star Trek, Unstoppable), Emily Blunt (The Adjustment Bureau, Edge of Tomorrow), and Meryl Streep (The Hours, Doubt). James Lapine adapted the screenplay for the film from the musical by himself and Stephen Sondheim, which opened on Broadway in 1987. The story follows several fairy-tale characters that intertwined as a father and daughter go to barter with a witch who has put a curse on their family tree. Director Rob Marshall (Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha) helmed the project for Walt Disney Pictures. You can watch the trailer here on MADE, then add it to your list of movies to choose from on Christmas Day.

‘Toy Story 4’ Officially In The Works For 2017

toys
Walt Disney Pictures has officially announced that Toy Story 4 is in the works and has been set for a release in 2017. The film will be directed by John Lasseter (A Bug’s Life, Cars), who also directed the original Toy Story in 1995 and Toy Story 2 in 1999, and is expected to bring back Woody, Buzz, Mr. Potatohead, and the whole gang of animated toys that set the bar for the new genre of feature-length computer-animated films. Lasseter will also produce the project and lend a hand in writing the script with co-writers Rashida Jones, Will McCormack, and Andrew Stanton. The cast has yet to be officially released but I would imagine Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will reprise the roles of Woody and Buzz Lightyear. We’ll keep an ear out for more information.
