A Few More Memorable Entries From Sundance Film Fest 2017

Sundance 2017 proved a huge success yet again. This year a number of impressive entries from a broad array of categories caught our attention, including Wind River, The Discovery, I Am Not Your Negro, Mudbound, and the outlandish comedy Wilson with Woody Harrelson and Laura Dern. Now that the celebration is over and everyone in Hollywood is looking forward to the Oscars at the end of the month, here are a few more mentionable entries you should look for in theaters in the coming months. New Trailer For Upcoming ‘Jason Bourne’ Sequel Now Available

Sunday night saw a decent amount of new movie trailers played during the 50th celebration of America’s favorite athletic pastime, the Super Bowl. One of these new trailers was a new preview for the upcoming Jason Bourne installment that will reunite director Paul Greengrass (United 93, Captain Phillips) with original actor Matt Damon (The Departed, The Martian) in what will simply be titled Jason Bourne. The two will share writing credits with screenwriter Christopher Rouse (The Italian Job, Greenzone), who has also worked on The Bourne Supremacy (2004) and The Bourne Ultimatum (2007). Also returning from the original film series is actress Julia Stiles (The Omen, Silver Linings Playbook), who is joined by newcomers Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Man from UNCLE), Tommy Lee Jones (No Country For Old Men, Lincoln), Vincent Cassel (Ocean’s Twelve, Black Swan), Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler, Star Wars: Rogue One), and Ato Essandoh (Blood Diamond, Django Unchained). No details are yet available on the plot, except that Tommy Lee Jones plays the new CIA station chief attempting to track down Jason Bourne, who disappeared at the conclusion of The Bourne Ultimatum. New Full Length Trailer For ‘Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Now Available

Last week fans were able to catch a sneak peak at a scene from the upcoming Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, due out in March 2016. The film is the follow up to director Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel and the precursor to Warner Bros./DC Comics upcoming Justice League movie, which will follow the next year in 2017. Most of the supporting cast from Man of Steel will be reprising their roles, including Henry Cavill (Stardust, The Man From UNCLE) as Superman, Amy Adams (American Hustle, Big Eyes) as Lois Lane, Diane Lane (Unfaithful, Trumbo), and Michael Shannon (World Trade Center, Revolutionary Road), with newcomers Ben Affleck (Argo, The Town) as Batman, Gal Gadot (Fast Five, Furious 7), Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Conan the Barbarian), Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Zombieland), Holly Hunter (The Piano, Oh Brother Where Art Thou?), Jeremy Irons (The Man in the Iron Mask, Die Hard with a Vengeance), and Laurence Fishburne (Apocalypse Now, The Matrix) also joining the cast. The new trailer introduces the major players, including Eisenberg’s Lex Luther and a glimpse of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and also of the opposing relationship between Batman and Superman and the political storm surrounding crime in Metropolis and Gotham City. New Trailer Offers Sneak-Peak Footage For Upcoming ‘Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’

A new trailer has just been released for director Zack Snyder‘s upcoming Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. The film will be the follow up to Snyder’s Man of Steel (2013), with Henry Cavill (Stardust, The Man from UNCLE) and Oscar-nominee Amy Adams (American Hustle, Big Eyes) reprising their roles as Superman and Lois Lane, and introducing Ben Affleck (The Town, Argo) in the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Honestly, it already looks terrible, but I’ll let you judge for yourself. In preparation for Warner Bros/DC Comics big screen production of Justice League, which is expected in theaters in 2017, the film will also introduce Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7) in the role of Wonder Woman (with an independent Wonder Woman movie also expected in theaters in 2017) and Jason Momoa (Conan the Barbarian, Bullet in the Head) in the role of Aquaman. And yes, there will be an independent Aquaman movie coming out in 2018, along with The Flash, who will be played by Ezra Miller (We Need To Talk About Kevin, The Perks of Being A Wallflower) and may be making a brief appearance in this movie. New Dramatic Adaptation Of ‘Macbeth’ Opening In Theaters This Friday

Director Justin Kurzel‘s new adaptation of William Shakespeare‘s Macbeth is opening in theaters this Friday, December 4th. The film features Oscar-nominated actor Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Basterds, 12 Years A Slave) in the role of Macbeth, Shakespeare’s tragic Scottish Thane who murders his king in order to come into his kingdom and then watches his new empire unravel before his eyes. Co-starring as Macbeth’s ambitious wife is fellow Oscar-nominee Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises, Midnight in Paris), with Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, The Man from UNCLE), Sean Harris (Deliver Us From Evil, Mission Impossible-Rogue Nation), and David Thewlis (The Omen, The Theory of Everything) appearing in the supporting cast. New Dramatic Adaptation of ‘Macbeth’ Opening In Theaters December 4th, 2015

This holiday season is sure to be full of enough big releases to keep you busy until next Spring, especially with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Before Star Wars mania overtakes the holidays, however, there are a number of feature releases that will definitely be worth your time to go and see. One such release comes in the first week of December, a new dramatic war-adaptation of William Shakespeare‘s Macbeth from director Justin Kurzel (The Snowtown Murders, The Turning). The classic tragedy of Macbeth, a Scottish Thane who kills his king after three witches prophesize his taking the thrown but who then becomes divided by his own ambition and paranoia, was adapted for the screen by writers Jacob Koskoff (The Marc Pease Experience), Michael Lesslie (Airlock or How to Say Goodbye in Space, Skirt), and actor-turned-writer Todd Louiso (Jerry Maguire, Thank You For Smoking). Starring in the lead as Macbeth is Oscar-nominee Michael Fassbender (12 Years A Slave, The Counselor), with Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises, Midnight In Paris), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, The Man From UNCLE), Sean Harris (Deliver Us From Evil, Mission:Impossible-Rogue Nation), and David Thewlis (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, The Theory of Everything) included in the supporting cast. New Dramatic Comedy ‘Burnt’ Opening In Theaters In New York and Los Angeles Today

A new “dramedy” titled Burnt from director John Wells (August: Osage County, Shameless) is opening for audiences in New York City and Los Angeles today, with a nationwide expansion expected in the next few weeks. The film comes from a film adaptation of a story by Michael Kalesniko (Private Parts, Iron Sky) by screenwriter Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Locke), centering around a chef who, after ruining his career with drugs and eccentric behavior, returns to London in an attempt to make a comeback by opening a restaurant capable of receiving three Michelin stars. Actor Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle) stars as chef Adam Jones, with actors Sienna Miller (American Sniper, Foxcatcher), Daniel Bruhl (Inglorious Basterds, Rush), Ricardo Scamarcio (My Brother is an Only Child, Loose Cannons), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Jurassic World), Emma Thompson (Love Actually, Saving Mr. Banks), Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill Vol. 1), and Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Man From UNCLE). The film is expected to be a semi-biographical story based around the life of Gordon Ramsey (Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Knightmares). The trailer is available here on MADE. ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ Opening In Theaters This Friday

This Friday movie audiences can get a taste of 1960s spy-era television with a big-screen adaptation of the classic series The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Penned for the screen and directed by Guy Ritchie (Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch), the story centers on an American and Russian spy who join forces during the Cold War era to seek out a secret organization attempting to acquire and set of nuclear weapons. Starring in the film are actors Henry Cavill (The Cold Light of Day, Man of Steel), Armie Hammer (The Social Network, The Lone Ranger), Alicia Vikander (A Royal Affair, Ex Machina), Elizabeth Debicki (A Few Best Men, The Great Gatsby), and Hugh Grant (About A Boy, Love Actually). The original series aired on NBC from 1964-1968, one of many spy series of the time including I Spy and, of course, author Ian Fleming’s James Bond series with Sean Connery. Creator Sam Rolfe actually approached Fleming to help write the series. The acronym U.N.C.L.E. stands for United Network Command for Law and Enforcement, and the show won the Golden Globe in 1966 for Best Television Series. Actor Tommy Lee Jones Joins Matt Damon In Cast Of Upcoming ‘Bourne’ Sequel

Oscar-winner Tommy Lee Jones will be joining Matt Damon in the upcoming fifth installment in the ‘Jason Bourne’ series, thus far only titled Bourne 5. Captain Phillips and Bourne Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass will be returning to helm the project, which will also star series veteran Julia Stiles (The Bourne Supremacy, Silver Linings Playbook), Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Hidalgo), and Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.). Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass will be writing the film along with returning Bourne screenwriter Christopher Rouse (The Italian Job, The Bourne Ultimatum), but no details regarding the plot are known at this time. Producer Frank Marshall (Indiana Jones-Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future) will produce with Jeffery Weiner under Captivate Entertainment. Stay tuned for more news!
