New Teaser Trailer Available For Nacho Vigolando’s ‘Colossal’ with Anne Hathaway

A new teaser trailer is available for Nacho Vigolando‘s Colossal with Anne Hathawy (The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar). The film is currently playing at the Sundance Film Festival and is slated for a domestic release this April 7th. Colossal is a comedic action-thriller with an interesting concept. It follows Gloria, a New Yorker forced to move back to small town America after her boyfriend throws her out for her eccentric party-every-night lifestyle. Upon moving home, Gloria gets a job working at the local bar and continues her excessive drinking, until one morning she wakes up and discovers (in a state of disbelief) that Seoul, South Korea had been terrorized by a giant, Godzilla-like monster the night before. As the phenomenon progresses, she slowly comes to suspect a strange link between herself and the Korean-terrorizing monster.

Strange? Corny? Yes. Hilarious? Yes. Worth seeing? Judging even by the short teaser trailer, definitely! Spanish filmmaker Nacho Vigolando (Timecrimes, Extraterrestrial) wrote and directed the film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. The cast includes Dan Stevens (A Walk Among the Tombstones, Beauty and the Beast), Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses, We’re the Millers), Tim Blake Nelson (Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, Lincoln), Austin Stowell (Whiplash, Bridge of Spies), Rukiya Bernard (Supernatural, Accidental Obsession), and Agam Darshi (2012, Sanctuary). Check back for additional trailers, and remember this one hits theaters on April 7th!

Star Wars Leading Actress Daisy Ridley Set To Star In New Drama ‘The Lost Wife’

Daisy

Although starring in one of the most successful film franchises of all time hasn’t always been great for acting careers (with the exception of Harrison Ford), that doesn’t seem to be the case with The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley. The young actress has just signed on to star in a new drama called The Lost Wife, a remake of the Israeli film Kolma. The Force Awakens and Star Trek director J.J. Abrams will be producing the project for Marielle Heller (A Walk Among the Tombstones, The Diary of a Teenage Girl), who will direct the film. Unlike many of her co-stars, who signed on for follow-up projects once it was announced they would be appearing in Star Wars, Ridley held off on contractual obligations until after the first film was already released in theaters. She is currently filming the second installment in the new Star Wars trilogy, which is being headed by director Rian Johnson (The Brothers Bloom, Looper). The Lost Wife is based on the book by Alyson Richman about a young couple in pre-World War II Prague who fall in love and are remorsefully separated when the Nazi’s invade the country in 1939. The script was adapted by Marc Klein (Serendipity, A Good Year), and the producers are aiming to show the film at Cannes before it opens to worldwide audiences. We’ll keep you posted for further updates.

‘Black Mass’ Opening In Theaters This September

Oscar-nominee Johnny Depp (Blow, Public Enemies) has recently been working on new installments for the Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice in Wonderland franchises, plus dealing with his girlfriend being locked up in Australia for smuggling canine’s into the country. But his next big project with director Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Out of the Furnace) is currently gearing up for the big screen this September. Black Mass, which we’ve been following for some time now, stars Depp as Whitey Bulger, perhaps the most violent and notorious gangster in the history of South Boston. The film comes from the book Black Mass: The Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob by Boston Globe reporters Dick Lehr and Gerald O’Neill and chronicles Bulger’s partnership with FBI agent John Connolly, who long delayed the bureau’s capture of Bulger by focusing his attention on Bulger’s competitors. The movie has undergone several changes over the last year, including director Barry Levinson and actor Tom Hardy being attached at various points in the production. Making up the final supporting cast include actors Dakota Johnson (21 Jump Street, Fifty Shades of Grey), Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby, Exodus: Gods and Kings), Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek: Into Darkness, The Imitation Game), Kevin Bacon (Apollo 13, Mystic River), Adam Scott (Step Brothers, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), and Peter Sarsgaard (Jarhead, Flightplan). The book by Lehr and O’Neill was adapted for the big screen by Jez Butterworth (Edge of Tomorrow, Get On Up) and Mark Mallouk (Rush, A Walk Among The Tombstones). First Trailer For Upcoming Whitey Bulger Film ‘Black Mass’ With Johnny Depp

We finally have a new trailer for the long-anticipated Whitey Bulger project featuring Oscar-nominee Johnny Depp (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Blow), titled Black Mass. Depp will star as real-life Boston gangster Whitey Bulger (whose life was also the premise for Martin Scorsese‘s 2004 hit The Departed), the most notorious violent criminal in Boston’s history, who along with his former childhood friend John Connolly, now working for the FBI, brought on a violent crime-spree in 1970s Boston as they attempted to wipe out Bulger’s mafia-competition in the city. Also starring in the film are actors Dakota Johnson (21 Jump Street, 50 Shades of Grey), Benedict Cumberbatch (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, The Imitation Game), Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby, Exodus: Gods and Kings), Kevin Bacon (Footloose, Hollow-Man), and Adam Scott (Step Brothers, Parks & Recreation).
