The silent dance party has become more and more popular throughout the U.S., but we’ve yet to hear of one going down at a notable location in the Twin Cities. DJ Keezy plans to change that this Friday with “SHHH: Silent Dance Party” at the Nomad. For those who are unfamiliar, silent dance parties usually feature 2 DJs playing at the same time while everyone wears headphones to listen in. The headphones usually have a switch which allows the listeners to flip between the 2 DJs. This event has a STACKED lineup of DJs including Sophia Eris, Tiiiiiiiiiip, Keith Millions, and Sarah White. This one is 21+ to enter and the door is only $10, if you’re looking for something different to do this weekend, look no further.
Location: 111 N 5th Street, Minneapolis When: Friday, March 3rd @ 10PM
Soulja Boy has been all over the place lately, whether it’s one of his multiple on going beefs or issues with the law. His up and down battle, turned boxing match, with Chris Brown could have been one of the most watched events of the year if it weren’t for Breezy backing out. The event will also feature CRAM, Lyric Marid, GainesFM, J. Plaza and more, DJ Tiiiiiiiiiip will hold down the 1s & 2s. This one is 18+ and early bird tickets are still available for $20 ($25 GA), click the link below to grab yours now.
Of all the hilarious April Fools Day jokes that were pulled this year, General Mills might have the best one. After linking up with Toki Wright via the McNally Smith College of Music, the idea for Watch The Stove was born. Lead by Bobby Raps & Tiiiiiiiiiip’s banger “Feed The Streets,” Watch The Stove might be one of the best parodies ever. Check it out for yourself above and be on the look out for more as Minneapolis’ music scene continues to heat up.

The city of Atlanta continues to lead the way throughout all levels of hip hop whether we’re talking about mainstream, underground, or production. Over the last couple of years, the Twin Cities have also established themselves firmly within the “top 5” conversation nationwide. With both cities churning out talent left and right, it’s fitting that we’ve finally got a bill that combines the two. A$AP Mob’s newest member, Playboi Carti, will headline the night with opening performances from GainesFM, Finding Novyon, Lexii Alijai and a few special guests. DJ Tiiiiiiiiiip and Micro Penis will provide the sounds, this is a must attend for hip hop lovers looking to go crazy. This one is 16+ and tickets are available via RSVP below.
DJ Tiiiiiiiiiip and his crew have been on a mission as of late throwing party after party. If you’ve attended any of these you already know it’s going to be a good night. This one is 18+ and anyone in before 10:10pm will receive free entry, click the link below to RSVP.
Last week we were lucky enough to catch IshDARR live at 7th Street Entry for what turned out to be a good show. The bill featured Ish, Maolu, and TIIIIIIIIIIP among others, the only damper was the all ages designation. His first time back since his opening set for GoldLink, IshDARR didn’t waste much time getting into his fan favorites. Local up and comer Maolu also did his thing warming up, but again the only downfall was the all ages crowd… The type of crowd that’s kind of awkward to film/shoot. All in all the show was good and IshDARR and crew did their thing, check out some pics above and our recap video below.
As we get into the full swing of fall it’s officially time for the annual Zombie Pub Crawl. After establishing itself last year as the world’s largest zombie gathering, this year’s event looks to take things to an entirely new level. No strangers to sprinkling vintage artists into the lineup, this year’s crawl will feature performances from Girl Talk, Sum 41, Soulja Boy, Hurt Everybody, Father, Bobby Raps, Mickey Avalon, Tickle Torture and Seven Lions among others. These are always a good time and have been known to get pretty wild in the past, the fact that it’s 21+ really sets it apart from similar events. General admission tickets are still available for $36.66 or you can go big and grab VIP passes for $76.66; click the link below to grab yours now.

The Underachievers will be in town this Wednesday and they’ve announced an after-party for their show at the main room. With the Record Room still under construction, Bobby Raps & TIIIIIIIIIIP’s dance party “Dequaxatron” has dwindled. That all changes with this after party which will be hosted in the 7th Street Entry. The night will feature plenty of special guests in signature Dequaxatron style, with Pouya in town you might even see a few rare live performances. This one is 18+ and pre-sale tickets are on sale for only $7, click the link below to grab yours now.
The last week has been good for music in Minneapolis & Saint Paul. A couple of days ago, Mike The Martyr and TIIIIIIIIIIP dropped Ghost Dose, a 14 track jaunt hosted by TIIIIIIIIIIP himself. Martyr continues to drop heat whether he’s producing or rapping, Ghost Dose has that “golden-era” mix-tape feel with new tracks mixed between freestyles over classic instrumentals. TIIIIIIIIIIP’s hosting only adds to the listening value along with a bunch of cameos from familiar favorites like Muja Messiah, Mike Mictlan, Axel Foley, Big Dylan, Finding Novyon and MORE. Mike’s laid back, but extremely witty style impresses throughout the tape, pure Southside dope. Check out Ghost Dose below and keep an eye out for more from Mike The Martyr.
Location: 318 N 1st Avenue, Minneapolis When: Thursday, August 27th @ 8PM
