Over the weekend, we made our way to a house party in Northeast, Minneapolis, to see Tickle Torture perform and are we ever glad we made it. Hot, sweaty and packed with naked-gold painted bodies – the night was not one to miss. Between hydrating with the unlimited margaritas and the bottles of wine that were passed around, there was an unhealthy amount of sweat…but it made it that much better. By the end of the night, some were naked and the gold paint wore off, all while confetti canons were fired. This was easily the most memorable Tickle Torture show to date and we were there to help capture the moment.
Stay tuned later this evening for the full album to be posted exclusively here through MADE.

This year’s New Year’s Eve is looking like one for the record books with more than enough fun to go around. In addition to the dance party in First Ave’s mainroom, “Naughty” NYE will be hosted by Lizzo with sets from Tickle Torture and TAWST (Shannon Blowtorch x Sophia Eris). If you’ve ever been to 7th Street Entry than you know how nuts this party is going to be. This one’s 18+ and unfortunately tickets are already sold out, if you’re dying to go you’ll have to surf Craigslist or Facebook for a chance. You probably will have to pay more than the original $20 price, but if you happen to snag tickets you’re definitely in for a great time.
Back in 2012, Tickle Torture shook the scene with the release of his EP Spiritual Machete. The album was ripe with jams, but the single that stood out most definitely has to be “Forgotten”. The record’s slow rise builds the anticipation for the drop and when it does, the listener has no choice but to start moving to the beat. The electro-Funkadelic (new word) vibe that “Forgotten” gives off is magnetizing, especially when seen live. Check out the single below and stay tuned for more.
Tickle Torture came back with avengeance earlier this year with the release of his EP Spectrophilia. After performing in New York during CMJ week, Tickle Torture has continued to turn heads in Minneapolis and beyond. Spectrophilia picks up right where Spiritual Machete left off with tons of electric funk sexiness. After watching Tickle turn a medium sized crowd into dancing maniacs at The Sound Gallery, I was a firm believer in the man’s ability to rock a party in all the right ways. Within the Twin Cities’ confines, Tickle Torture’s sound sticks out like a sore thumb, not to mention his “all gold everything” mantra. As we near 2015, time will only tell what’s in store for one of Minneapolis’ hottest up and coming acts. Check out Spectrophilia below and keep an eye out for more from Tickle Torture.
