20 Gramz of Chicago’s $hoots Collective recently dropped a new track titled “Vibekilla.” Produced by Weezy Taylor ($hoots), the bass heavy instrumental contains that street ready grit that we’ve come to know from The $hoots. 20 Gramz goes in on the beat showing zero tolerance for any of the fuckery that can often plague daily life. A solid record from an artist you should keep an eye on, check out “Vibekilla” below and stay tuned for more.
A couple of days ago, The $hoots Collective dropped a new single titled “Lay Wit Me”. Produced by Radius and featuring Tiara Déshané, “Lay Wit Me” plays like a sultry jazz record, smooth and elegant. Tiara sings with passion on the hook, a perfect compliment to The $hoots and the overall direction of the record. With the release of their project 3rdFlo set for this Summer, it’ll be interesting to see what’s next for Chicago’s $hoots Collective. Check out “Lay Wit Me” below and be on the look out for more from these guys.
A couple of days ago, Chicago collective The $hoots, sent us a new single entitled “F.T.P” (FukThaPolice). With America’s current political and social climate, the song matches the sentiment of many young American’s who are fed up with injustice at the hands of the police (ironic??). Produced by in-house producer Weezy Taylor, the record features 20 Gramz and BJ Da Balla; serving as a quick look at Weezy Taylor’s self titled EP which is due out in early 2015. Another solid track from The $hoots, check it out above and keep an eye out for more.
Chicago collective The $hoots recently dropped a new visual for their bangin track “Plottin'”. Off of their DANK EP, “Plottin'” is an ultra gritty record that sees 20 Gramz and Riki Starr unleash a pair of dope verses. The decaying and dilapidated landscape in the video matches the record’s sound well, creating a visually pleasing body of work. These guys are definitely on the come up, peep the video for “Plottin'” above and be on the look out for more from The $hoots Collective.
A few weeks back, Chicago’s $hoots Collective dropped an EP titled DANK. We hadn’t heard of these dudes before receiving their debut effort, but our interests were quickly peaked. Featuring 20 Gramz, Riki Starr, Bj Da Balla, Weezy Taylor and Yuru Jacquel, the $hoots Collective contain that gritty, street ready sound fused with heavy doses of Mary Jane. With a span of only 4 tracks, DANK definitely leaves you wondering what’s next from the Collective, check out the EP above and keep an eye out for more.
