‘Independence Day 2: Resurgence’ Now Playing In Theaters Nationwide

The highly anticipated sequel to director Roland Emmerich‘s 1996 blockbuster Independence Day 2: Resurgence is now playing in theaters nationwide. Despite a failed effort to bring back Will Smith, who played one of the lead roles in the original film, the new sequel has gained much anticipation from fans of the original, who no doubt are excited to see veteran actors Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, The Grand Budapest Hotel) and Bill Pullman (Spaceballs, While You Were Sleeping) reunite onscreen to fight aliens! Also returning from the original film are actors Vivica A. Fox (Juwanna Man, Kill Bill: Vol 1), Brent Spiner (The Aviator, Star Trek: The Next Generation), and Judd Hirsch (Ordinary People, A Beautiful Mind), who are joined by new lead Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games, Paranoia), and actors Jessie T. Usher (When The Game Stands Tall, Survivor’s Remorse), Joey King (Crazy Stupid Love, The Conjuring), Maika Monroe (Labor Day, It Follows), Sela Ward (The Day After Tomorrow, Gone Girl), and William Fichtner (Armageddon, Black Hawk Down). Despite popularity among fans, the film has not received good reviews from critics, who have called it “boring” and “loaded down with ’90s cheesiness.” Not sure how audiences will react or if they will agree with the critics, but I guess we’ll find out this weekend. Enjoy!

WWII Drama ‘Fury’ With Brad Pitt Opens In Theaters October 17th

The upcoming World War II drama Fury from writer/director David Ayer is due in theaters this October 17th, and considering Ayer’s track record I think we’ll definitely be in for a great movie. Ayer is the writing genius behind such projects as U-571 (2000), The Fast and the Furious (2001), Training Day (2001), S.W.A.T. (2003), and End of Watch (2012), and began his career in directing in 2005 with the South Central LA crime-drama Harsh Times. On top of Ayer’s excellent record, Fury also features a big star cast including Brad Pitt (who seems to do well in WWII movies…#ingloriousbastards?), Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Scott Eastwood, Jon Bernthal, and Jason Isaacs. The movie follows an Allied army sergeant, Wardaddy, who leads his five-man Sherman-tank crew on a dangerous mission into Nazi territory in April 1945. You can watch the trailer here on MADE, then be sure to catch it in theaters this October 17th.

Producer Ridley Scott Adds Will Smith To Untitled NFL Concussion Project

In 2009, writer Jeanne Marie Laskas published an article in GQ Magazine entitled Game Brain, which followed the story of neuropathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu and his discovery of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy and his exposure of the condition to the general public. Now director/producer Ridley Scott is working on a new film based on that article with Peter Landesman (Parkland) set to write and direct the project at Sony Pictures. Now, according to Variety, producer Scott may have his lead actor already in place with Will Smith, who is expected to take the part of Omalu. Few details are known about the specific plot at this point and there is no time table for a release, but with a director and lead already in place we may see this one sooner than we think.

Ferrari California T

Legendary auto maker Ferrari recently revealed their latest project from their headquarters in Maranello, Italy. Dubbed the California T, this new interpretation within the iconic California series sees a fully remodeled 3.9 liter turbo-charged V8; allowing the car to pump out 560 horses and hit 60mph in 3.5 seconds. Following it’s cousin from 2013 (2013 California), the T version will also come equipped with a convertible hardtop but it will also boast improved gas mileage.
