Nazeem & Spencer Joles are heating up right now coming off their recent Soundset 2017 announcement. That’s right, the south side kids made the cut this year and also appear to be working on a new EP. Dubbed Years of Obscurity, the first offering from the project comes in the form of a new video titled “Lake St.”. The fight club-esque visual completes the songs gritty aesthetic, we could definitely get used to the kid Liban starring in videos. Chill with a splash of tension underneath the surface, “Lake St.” actually does a good job capturing the feeling of the real street. Check out the video above and be on the look out for more from Nazeem & Spencer Joles.
The boys from CRAM have been awfully busy as of late, but it seems they’ve found some time to gift us all with a new single from off their upcoming project. Titled “Lifeline,” the Shrimpnose produced record provides a sparring ground for each artist to flash their own styles. Songs with this many artists usually feel manufactured, but “Lifeline” has a way of feeling organic, this might be a testament to their growing chemistry. Spencer & Nazeem seem with at home laying down bars for days, we’re sure you’ll see this one performed tomorrow at the Triple Rock. Check out “Lifeline” for yourself above and keep an eye out for more from CRAM.
Nazeem & Spencer Joles shut 7th Street Entry the fuck down last week. The event sold out quickly and the performers wasted no time turning up. If you weren’t able to make it, the good people over at Common Culture gotcha covered, check out their recap video above.
Location: 701 1st Avenue N, Minneapolis
When: Thursday, April 14th @ 8PM
Nazeem & Spencer Joles shook the scene a couple of weeks ago with the release of The Album, their highly anticipated debut. If you’ve seen these two live lately, then you already know that they’re clearly one of the best acts in town. If you’ve heard their new album you’re probably dying to hear it live, it doesn’t hurt having a stacked bill either. The night will also feature performances from Alibaster Jones, CRAM, Unknown Creatures, and DJ BVCKWOODS; not bad for a Thursday night at the entry. This one is 18+ and advance tickets are still available for only $8 ($10 @ door), click the link below to grab yours now.
Nazeem & Spencer Joles are currently on fire. 2 weeks ago they released their highly anticipated debut, The Album, a project that indeed meets the hype. I don’t know what’s scarier, the fact that these two are still relatively unknown nationally, or the fact that this is just the tip of the iceberg. From the abrasive “Fallen Souls,” to the stadium worthy “Smoke Daht,” this is one of those projects that warrants a full listen from front to back. Nazeem & Spencer have come along way and the sky is their limit, check out The Album above and make sure you grab tickets to the album release show by clicking the link below.
Minneapolis’ DIY scene took a big hit earlier this year when the Sound Gallery (studio) closed down, but the void was quickly filled by a whole cast of other locations. Among the many, The Creek has thrown a couple of notable events in the past few weeks, one being last Saturday’s event with 612Collection. Alibastor Jones’ opening set laid the groundwork for what would end up being a great time. The night also featured performances from Lucien Parker, Nazeem & Spencer Joles, Mike The Martyr, KAS, and Drelli among others. A good event to cap off 2015, if you happened to miss out we’ve got you covered with some pics above.
Location: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Minneapolis (The Creek)

December just got a lot doper with the announcement of 612Collection’s 2nd event. Sponsored by The Morning Macchiato, Worldplug Collective, 612 Collection and yours truly; we plan to up the ante with this one. The lineup is STACKED with performances from Nazeem & Spencer Joles w/ Odiño, Ra’Shaun, Lucien Parker, Alibaster Jones, Major G, and special guest Mike The Martyr. Spots like The Creek are really fun, but only if we keep them that way; with that said please be respectful and check your friends if they aren’t.
