Pizza Luce’s annual block party is right around the corner and this year’s is looking like one to remember. Sure there will be plenty of pizza and Surly beer on deck, but the real draw is this year’s lineup. The event features a full day of music including performances from Craig Finn, Allan Kingdom, Sophia Eris, HALEY, and Fury Things among others. Sophia Eris will celebrate her birthday tonight with a party at Icehouse. Sophia will take the stage along with a few special guests, we’re sure you’ll see plenty of familiar faces. Drink specials and industry deals will also be available, this one is 21+ and the door is only $5.

The all female lineup features mainstays such as DJ Keezy, Shannon Blowtorch, Sophia Eris, and more while a rotating cast of artists make guest appearances. Go 95.3 recently announced that Sophia Eris will be joining the team, awesome news for an artist whose worked a ton to hone her DJ skills. Sophia will now be a featured DJ on Go 95.3’s mix team, she’ll start this Friday at 9PM, make sure to tune in for her first mix.

One of the Twin Cities’ brightest stars will be live at First Avenue’s main room for the first time in quite awhile. Lizzo made major moves throughout 2015 and capped the year off with the release of her highly anticipated album Big Grrrl Small World. The leading lady of GRRRL PRTY plans to keep the momentum going with this Saturday’s sold out show in the main room. If you’re absolutely dying to go you’ll have to opt for Craigslist or try surfing Facebook for tickets, happy hunting.

It’s the third Saturday of the month so that means TAWST will once again take over the Nomad. For those who are unfamiliar, the TAWST dance parties feature DJ Shannon Blowtorch & Sophia Eris on the 1s and 2s, as well as a rotating cast of special guests on any given night. These can get pretty wild and are always a good time, make sure to come thirsty because the Nomad always offers solid specials. 21+ to get in and the door is only $5, if you’re looking for something to do tonight head over to the West Bank.

The guys from Future Fossils will soon be dropping their first project under their new moniker. A while back, the crew announced the official release party for their EP Tears of Gold and the lineup is absolutely insane. The event will feature the legendary duo Dead Prez, Chester Watson, BLVCK SPVCE, Chance York, Sophia Eris and a bunch of special guests, not bad for the price of $15 bucks. We’re definitely interested to see what they have in-store for Tears of Gold, no matter their name we’re sure it’ll be a solid project. This past Friday, Beasthead held down The Nomad to kickoff the Halloween weekend. The night featured a variety of local artists – all of which, are a unique blend of genres. It was free to enter with a costume, which made it that much more of a reason to come out and support local acts – and aren’t we glad that we did. Just like a lot of holidays in 2015, Halloween follows suit falling on the weekend providing 2 nights of celebration. There will be a ton of things to do this weekend, but the Nomad is definitely the place to kick things off. Our friends from Beasthead are throwing a Halloween show with special performances from Carnivore Bones, Devata Daun, DJ Sophia Eris and Beasthead themselves. MADE will be sponsoring the event alongside PBR, they’ll provide the $3 tall boys; and we’ll have a classic photo booth for those who want to capture the memory.
