‘Terminator Genisys’ Opening In Theaters Nationwide This July 1st, 2015

You have probably noticed all of the new TV-spots for the upcoming Terminator Genisys movie, the long-awaited 5th installment in the series that began with writer/director James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar) in 1984. While we did just see an installment several years ago with Christian Bale (The Dark Knight, The Prestige), the big appeal for this Terminator movie is that it will bring the series back to the familiarity of the story-line: futuristic cyborg (reprogrammed by the resistance) is sent back in time to ensure the survival of Sarah Connor, whose son, John, is the leader of the human race against intelligent machines after Judgement Day. It will also see series veteran Arnold Schwarzenegger (Predator, Total Recall) back in his original role as the cyborg-assassin, but this won’t be simply a case of re-making the original. Instead, director Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, Thor: The Dark World) and writers Laeta Kalogridis (Alexander, Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Scream, Drive Angry) will follow the terminator and Kyle Reese as they venture along a parallel time-line to Cameron’s original film (think Back to the Future: Part 2, but with Arnold instead of Marty McFly!). You may have noticed that modern-day Arnold gets into a hardcore fist-fight with his younger self at the end of the trailer…pretty cool shit! The supporting cast will see Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Dom Hemingway) as Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney (A Good Day To Die Hard, Divergent) as Kyle Reese, and Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, The Great Gatsby) as John Connor, with Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man, Whiplash) also making an appearance. The trailer is here on MADE, be sure to catch this one on the big screen on July 1st!

New Trailer For Upcoming ‘Terminator Genisys’ With Arnold Schwarzenegger Now Available

Finally we have a trailer for the upcoming installment in the Terminator series with returning veteran actor Arnold Schwarzenegger (True Lies, Batman & Robin). The new film is titled Terminator Genisys and will find Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor following an alternate time-line parallel to the original film when they team up with the aging cyborg (Schwarzenegger) to try and prevent Judgement Day. Leading the cast are actors Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Dom Hemingway) and Jai Courtney (Divergent, A Good Day To Die Hard), as well as Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man, Whiplash), Matt Smith (Womb, Lost River), and Jason Clarke (Public Enemies, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as John Connor. The script comes from Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Dracula 2000, Drive Angry), with Alan Taylor (The Sopranos, Thor: The Dark World) taking up the directing duties. The film is due in theaters this July 1st, so we should see additional trailers out before then, but for now, enjoy the latest!

Matt Smith And Aaron Williamson Joining ‘Terminator: Genesis’

The next installment in the Terminator series will not only bring back Arnold Schwarzenegger as the futuristic cyborg killer, it will also feature a new all-star cast including Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, and J.K. Simmons, and now Doctor Who regular Matt Smith and Marine veteran turned bodybuilder Aaron Williamson will also be joining the cast. Smith’s role is still unknown at this point, but Williamson, who has lent a hand on numerous Hollywood projects like The Butler and Django Unchained, will also take a role as a T-800 cyborg just like Schwarzenegger. The official plot of the movie is still being kept under-wraps, but according to a recent article from HitFix it may involve a double parallel where we see the original story-line from James Cameron’s 1984 blockbuster as well as the new story playing out in the same time and place, so a bit like Back to the Future: Part 2 where you have two Marty’s with two objectives. The film will also include Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Jai Courtney (A Good Day To Die Hard) in the roles of Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese, the two protagonists of the original movie, and will be penned by Laeta Kalogridis (Alexander, Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Dracula 2000, Drive Angry). Director Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, The Sopranos) is already in the process of shooting the film, and Paramount has scheduled the release for July 2015.
