‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘The Infiltrator’ Opening in Theaters This Weekend

The long anticipated Ghostbusters reboot with Melissa McCarthy (The Heat, Spy), Kristen Wiig (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Martian), Kate McKinnon (Ted 2, Finding Dory), and Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live, Trainwreck) is now playing in theaters nationwide. Director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) has faced some harsh opposition to rebooting the series, but the film is still expected to earn a large haul at this weekend’s box office. Picking up 30 years after the last installment, a new female crew of ‘busters reopens the original location and works to rid New York of its paranormal residents. Original actors Bill Murray (Caddyshack, Stripes), Dan Aykroyd (The Blue Brothers, Tommy Boy), Ernie Hudson (Joy of Sex, The Crow), Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Avatar), and Annie Potts (Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Toy Story) are all expected to make cameo appearances throughout the film, so it should be a pretty fun summer blockbuster. Also opening in theaters this weekend is a new drama from director Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer, Runner Runner) called The Infiltrator. Continue reading

‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2’ Opening In Theaters This Weekend

Coming off of a 14-year hiatus, the beloved Portokalos family getting back together on the big screen for another Greek wedding celebration in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. Writer/actress Nia Vardalos (Connie and Carla, I Hate Valentine’s Day) returned to write the new film and reprise her role of Toula under the direction of Kirk Jones (Nanny McPhee, Everybody’s Fine). Carrying over from the original film are actors John Corbett (Raising Helen, Street Kings), Michael Constantine (The Hustler, Room 222), Lainie Kazan (You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, Pixels), Andrea Martin (Wholly Moses, Soup for One), Gia Carides (The Spy Who Shagged Me, Year One), and Joey Fatone (Long Shot, The Opposite Sex). The original film received high praise from fans and critics, but didn’t really end in a way that would merit a sequel. Then again, Zoolander didn’t really merit a sequel after 15 years either, but we just suffered through the unimpressive Zoolander 2 last month, so all we can say for Greek Wedding 2 is that it doesn’t ruin a good thing like Zoolander did. The trailer is available here on MADE. Be sure to see all the big family theatrics on the big screen this weekend. Enjoy!

Check Out The New Trailer For ‘Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser’

We first heard about comedian David Spade‘s upcoming sequel to his 2001 original hit back in the fall, and now with summer quickly approaching we have a new sequel to appease our curiosity! The new sequel, titled Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser, is being directed by original co-writer Fred Wolf (Strange Wilderness, The House Bunny) and was scripted by Spade (Tommy Boy, Grown Ups), himself, who also starred and co-wrote the original film. This time out we find Joe caught in a time warp that puts him on yet another epic quest across land (and time) to find the family he had just discovered at the conclusion of the first film. Returning to reprise their roles from the original are actors Brittany Daniel (White Chicks, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia), Golden Globe-nominee Adam Beach (Windtalkers, Flags of our Fathers), and Academy Award-winner Christopher Walken (The Deer Hunter, Catch Me If You Can), plus a whole new ensemble of characters including Patrick Warburton (Family Guy, Ted) and Susie Abromeit (Sex Drive, Battle Los Angeles). Fans, however, will not likely be seeing this one show on the big screen; part of the deal in financing/making the film was that Spade would exclusively release it on the website Krackle, even though Happy Madison Productions is lending a hand in the production. So come July 16th you’ll have to go onto Krackle to see the new movie. For now, here’s the first trailer…Enjoy!

James Franco And Seth Rogen’s New Comedy ‘The Interview’ Opens Christmas Day

The upcoming comedy, The Interview, with James Franco and Seth Rogen has already stirred-up plenty of controversy before it’s even reached it’s release date. North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, went so far as to declare the movie’s public release an “act of war,” and a group of hackers called the Guardians of Peace have released several Sony Pictures corporate documents that they attained after hacking the company’s computer database last month in an effort to stop the release. But thus far Sony has given no public statement saying that they will pull the film from theaters, so as far as we all know, it is still scheduled for release this Christmas Day. The plot of the movie revolves around a pair of reporters who are recruited by the CIA to infiltrate North Korea under the guise of interviewing Kim Jong Un, and then assassinate Un at their first opportunity. Seth Rogen co-directed the movie with Evan Goldberg (This Is The End, Neighbors), and the film also stars Lizzy Caplan (127 Hours, Hot Tub Time Machine) and Randall Park (Dinner For Schmucks, Sex Tape). Screenwriter Dan Sterling (The Sarah Silverman Project, The Office) wrote the screenplay with Rogen and Goldberg. You can watch the trailer here on MADE, and if going to the movies on Christmas Day is a family thing (or just your thing!) then by all means, go and see it this December 25th.
