New Trailer Offers Sneak-Peak Footage For Upcoming ‘Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’

A new trailer has just been released for director Zack Snyder‘s upcoming Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. The film will be the follow up to Snyder’s Man of Steel (2013), with Henry Cavill (Stardust, The Man from UNCLE) and Oscar-nominee Amy Adams (American Hustle, Big Eyes) reprising their roles as Superman and Lois Lane, and introducing Ben Affleck (The Town, Argo) in the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Honestly, it already looks terrible, but I’ll let you judge for yourself. In preparation for Warner Bros/DC Comics big screen production of Justice League, which is expected in theaters in 2017, the film will also introduce Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7) in the role of Wonder Woman (with an independent Wonder Woman movie also expected in theaters in 2017) and Jason Momoa (Conan the Barbarian, Bullet in the Head) in the role of Aquaman. And yes, there will be an independent Aquaman movie coming out in 2018, along with The Flash, who will be played by Ezra Miller (We Need To Talk About Kevin, The Perks of Being A Wallflower) and may be making a brief appearance in this movie. In other words, once Star Wars: The Force Awakens is out, it’s right back to milking the comic books. Also staring in the film are Oscar-nominees Diane Lane (The Perfect Storm, Unfaithful), Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road, Boardwalk Empire), Jessie Eisenberg (The Social Network, Now You See Me), and Laurence Fishburne (Apocalypse Now, The Matrix), and Oscar-winners Holly Hunter (The Piano, Oh Brother Where Art Thou?) and Jeremy Irons (Reversal of Fortune, Die Hard with a Vengeance). Oscar-winning screenwriter Chris Terrio (Heights, Argo) and David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Rises, Man of Steel) wrote the script that finds Batman and Superman at arms with each other while a more deadly force is steadily rising and Washington is up in arms about the presence of “super-heros” in our modern society. Considering Snyder is returning, and the impressive number of Oscar-winners working on the film, it will still more than likely be a pretty good movie. I don’t know who decided to hire Ben Affleck as Batman, but let’s just try our best to look passed it. Enjoy the footage.

New Spike Lee Drama ‘Chiraq’ Begins Filming In Chicago’s Wicker Park Neighborhood

chiraq
Chicago Police investigate a shooting on Chicago’s southside.

Chicagoans may have noticed all the crazy traffic that surrounded the Wicker Park neighborhood today (June 2nd). The cause? Controversial film director Spike Lee (Malcolm X, Inside Man) is in town at the intersection of North and Milwaukee Avenue beginning principle photography for his new drama Chiraq. The film has already been the subject of much scrutiny owing to the implications of its title, and the graphic nature of the violence in Chicago that is expected to be the film’s main focus. Making up the cast are actors Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained), John Cusack (Hot Tub Time Machine, The Raven), Jeremy Piven (Old School, Entourage), Common (Now You See Me, Selma), and Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls, Empire), with rapper Kanye West rumored to also be in the cast. Details on the plot are still pretty vague, but the film has been in production for sometime now, and this is likely only one location that will be used for film locations. The film is due out in theaters in 2016. Stay tuned.

The photo displays Leto’s Joker make-up for the upcoming Suicide Squad, due out in theaters in August 2016, while simultaneously celebrating the 75th anniversary of the character’s first appearance. Writer/director David Ayer (End of Watch, Fury) will be working from his own script adaptation of Ross Andru, Robert Kanigher, and John Ostrander’s DC Comics series. Joining Leto in the cast line-up are actors Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street, Focus), Jai Courtney (The Water Diviner, Terminator Genisys), Will Smith (Independence Day, Men in Black), Joel Kinneman (Safe House, RoboCop), and Viola Davis (The Help, Prisoners). Margot Robbie Set To Lead Cast Of ‘Suicide Squad’ From Director David Ayer

margot

Robbie will appear as Harley Quinn in the big screen adaptation of Suicide Squad, which follows a group of supervillains in the DC Comic universe that receive commuted prison sentences in exchange for performing black ops missions for the federal government. Danielle Radcliffe Will Take Role In ‘Now You See Me 2’, While Michael Caine Talks Of Retirement

Daniel

Recently we found out that Harry Potter actor Danielle Radcliffe would be taking a role alongside Brie Larson and Ben Kingsley in director Douglas McGrath’s upcoming drama Brooklyn Bridge, and now it seems he will also take a supporting role in the sequel to 2013’s big blockbuster Now You See Me. Radcliffe is rumored to be appearing as fellow British actor Michael Caine’s son in the film that is thus far scheduled for release in June 2016 and will reunite Caine with cast members Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco. While this is pretty good news, it also comes with a hint of bad news. Michael Caine has recently stated in an interview with Newsnight that he may be looking to retire from acting after this movie is completed. The 81-year-old actor has been appearing in films and television series since the 1950s, taking roles in such films as Alfie (1966), The Italian Job (1969), A Bridge Too Far (1977), The Cider House Rules (1999), Children of Men (2006), The Prestige (2006), The Dark Knight (2008), and Inception (2010), and unless a new script comes along before he is finished filming in December, he may walk away from acting for good. Caine has won two Oscars over the course of his career, one for Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) and another for The Cider House Rules (1999), and it would definitely be a loss to the industry if he were to retire, but until we hear something finite, we’ll take it for what it is at the moment: a possibility. Stay tuned.
