Look For New George Lazenby Documentary ‘Becoming Bond’ On Hulu This May

A new documentary centered around the youngest actor to portray British agent James Bond 007 (and for only one film) is coming to Hulu this May 20th. George Lazenby, a car salesman from Australia, famously conned his way into the role by going to meet with producer Albert R. Broccoli, securing an audition by claiming he had acting experience in his native Australia, which wasn’t true. He was, however, able to pull off an audition that was good enough to convince fellow producer Harry Saltzman of his worthiness for the part, and thus On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969) became the first Bond film without original actor Sean Connery appearing in the title role. Although audiences and critics had mixed reviews upon its release, OHMSS has, over the years, became one of the more favored entries in the Bond franchise. Incidentally, Lazenby is also the only actor to have received major recognition for his portrayal of the character, earning a Golden Globe nomination in 1970 for Most Promising Newcomer/Best New Star. The film first saw a limited release back on November 20th, and now audiences everywhere will get to see the fact-based drama Oscar-winning writer/director Brian Helgeland (Mystic River, LA Confidential). Set in 1960s England, the film follows the story of the Kray’s as they run their empire of organized crime among the streets of East London and whose strength and loyalty to each other will be put to the ultimate test. Joining Hardy in the cast are actors Emily Browning (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Pompeii), Taron Egerton (Testament of Youth, Kingsman: The Secret Service), Sam Spruell (K-19: The Widowmaker, The Hurt Locker), and Chaz Palminteri (A Bronx Tale, The Usual Suspects). New Amy Berg Documentary ‘Janis: Little Girl Blue’ Opening In Theaters Friday November 27th

A new music-documentary from director Amy Berg (West of Memphis, An Open Secret) titled Janis: Little Girl Blue is opening in theaters this Friday, November 27th. The last we heard news of this project was back in October, when it was to be headlined (among other contenders like Trumbo, Black Mass, and Spotlight) at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it was an Offical Selection winner. The film also received Official Selection at this years Festival de Rio and BFI London Film Festival. Featuring Cat Power (V for Vendetta, Boyhood) as the narrator, the film takes a close look at the life of blues/rock-n-roll star Janis Joplin and her roll as a woman and key figure in the Rock-n-Roll movement through personal letters she wrote to friends, family, and fellow musicians. A barrage of home-movies, interviews, and documentary footage accompanies the letters read by Power to give us a touching and intimate look at the life of the twentieth century icon. If you’re a fan of Joplin’s, classic rock, blues, or the 60s in general, I would definitely recommend seeing this one if you can. For other great concert footage of Joplin, check out Woodstock: The Director’s Cut, which documents the famous Woodstock Music Festival held in the summer of 1969 and featured some of the most popular artists of the time, including Jimmy Hendrix, Joan Baez, The Who, Santana, Joe Cocker, Richie Havens, Arloo Guthrie, Sly and the Family Stone, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash, among many more. Enjoy!

New Trailer Available For ‘2oolander’ In Theaters February 2016

Reactions by fans to the news that there would be a second Zoolander was pretty mixed, although it didn’t necessarily come with any real surprise considering Hollywood insists on banking on 20-year-old franchises these days. Nevertheless the rumors were true and production has been underway for sometime now, with the upcoming release for Zoolander 2 scheduled for February 12, 2016. Ben Stiller (Meet the Parents, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) and Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers, Midnight in Paris) are reprising their roles as fashion models Derek and Hansel, whose careers are now threatened by a new company attempting to put them out of business. Ben Stiller is once again behind the director’s chair, working from a script by himself and original Zoolander screenwriter John Hamburg (Along Came Polly, I Love You Man), along with Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2) and Nicholas Stoller (Yes Man, Get Him To The Greek). Actors Christine Taylor (The Wedding Singer, License To Wed), Will Farrell (Old School, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy), and Billy Zane (Back to the Future, Titanic) are also returning to reprise their roles from the original film, along with newcomers Benedict Cumberbatch (12 Years A Slave, The Imitation Game), Olivia Munn (Magic Mike, The Newsroom), Kristen Wiig (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The League), and Penelope Cruz (Blow, The Counselor). Personal politics aside, the trailer does look pretty promising, though perhaps a bit overdone, and seeing Benedict Cumberbatch as a cross-dresser is definitely a step outside of his usual realm of acting, so maybe it will make for a decent Valentine’s date. Only time will tell. The trailer is now available here on MADE. Enjoy the weekend!

Also starring in the film are actors Emily Browning (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Pompeii), Taron Egerton (Testament of Youth, Kingsman: The Secret Service), and Sam Spruell (K-19: The Widowmaker, The Hurt Locker), and Chaz Palminteri (A Bronx Tale, The Usual Suspects), in what should be a riveting and action-packed drama from the looks of the trailer. 24th James Bond Film ‘Spectre’ Now Playing In Theaters Nationwide

Fans of the James Bond film franchise will once again get to see Daniel Craig (Casino Royale, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) grace the screen as the infamous British Secret Service agent. Spectre is the first release in the series since 2012’s Skyfall, and is once again being directed by Oscar-winning Skyfall and American Beauty director Sam Mendes. Spectre will see the character of Bond return to his roots, as he embarks on a mission to uncover the top secret criminal organization known as SPECTRE, while M fights struggles to keep the British government from dismantling the Secret Service. This is the same criminal organization that the character faced in the Sean Connery films, and first appeared in the Bond novels by author Ian Fleming. Skyfall writers John Logan, Neal Purvis, and Robert Wade penned the script for the new film with screenwriter Jez Butterworth (Get On Up, Edge of Tomorrow). Daniel Craig will be returning to reprise the role of Bond in his fourth appearance as the character, and this may very well be the last time fans have an opportunity to see Craig in the role on the big screen, as he has stated several times that he may not return for a fifth film. Returning to the supporting cast are actors Ralph Fiennes (The English Patient, The Constant Gardener), Ben Whishaw (I’m Not There, Cloud Atlas), and Naomie Harris (28 Days Later, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest), with newcomers Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds, Big Eyes), Lea Seydoux (Blue is the Warmest Color, The Grand Budapest Hotel), Monica Bellucci (The Matrix Reloaded, The Passion of the Christ), and Dave Bautista (Riddick, Guardians of the Galaxy). The trailer is available here on MADE.
