‘Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens’ Now Playing In Theaters Nationwide

After months and months of anticipation, fans can finally rejoice! As of today, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is now playing in theaters nationwide, and if you haven’t already secured a ticket, you might have to wait at least a week or two before braving the storm of people waiting in line out the door. Director JJ Abrams (Mission Impossible 3, Super 8) took leave of his Star Trek obligations in order to direct the film, which reunites original stars Mark Hamill (Commander Hamilton, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), Harrison Ford (Blade Runner, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc), and Carrie Fisher (Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, The Blues Brothers) with an all new generation of actors, led by Daisy Ridley (Blue Season, Scrawl), John Boyega (Junkhearts, Imperial Dreams), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis, A Most Violent Year), Domhnall Gleeson (Unbroken, Ex Machina), Adam Driver (While We’re Young, This Is Where I Leave You), and Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey). The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi Oscar-winning screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan (The Big Chill, The Accidental Tourist) worked on the new project’s script with director Abrams and fellow Oscar-winner Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine, Toy Story 3), about a new threat to peace and justice in the galaxy that occurs 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi concluded. Little more needs be said; all I ask is that you not be an asshole and spoil the plot for everybody in ear-shot of your conversations! Enjoy.

Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Returning in September; SPOILER ALERT!!

Last night, Sons of Anarchy left fans of the motorcycle drama with one of the biggest cliff hanger episodes ever! Not only was Jax (Charlie Hunnam) supposed to be going away to prison for what will potentially be 25 years, Jemma (Katey Sagal) finally snapped and killed Tara (Jax’s wife, played by Maggie Siff for those who don’t follow the show)!!! While it was believed by everybody that Tara was going to rat on the whole club, Jax ultimately knew that it was he who had to turn himself in in order to honor his word to himself and to his wife to get their sons away from the motorcycle club that had so ruined Jaxs’ life and his father’s before him. Jemma, of course, was not aware of such goings on and murdered Tara in a graphic, bloody rage (masterfully filmed by creator Kurt Sutter). With Tara dead and Jax, who may or may not be blamed for Tara’s murder by the enthusiastic DA, set to go to prison for a long time, the filmmakers have plenty of questions left to answer, and apparently plenty of time to prep for it seeing as the new season won’t come out for another 9 and a half months! Season 7 has thus far been reported as the final season in the franchise from Kurt Sutter, so it should make for an action packed finale. If you missed out on Season 6, you’ll have to wait for the DVD release, but the first 5 seasons are available to watch on Netflix, so I would definitely get caught up if I were you!!

The Walking Dead Season 4 Mid-Season Split

The Walking Dead, the hit series from AMC, has been known to leave fans on edge while cutting itself midseason for the duration of the holidays. Even though this has been the show’s custom since it started back in 2010, fans are still never prepared for the split and the huge questions that are always left unanswered for the time between early December and February of the next year! The Season 4 midseason finale, however, was definitely one of the biggest cut-offs the show has ever seen. While the show has left off on big shoot outs and crazy character reunions in seasons 2 and 3, this time the filmmakers decided to leave off with a character killing spree, both good guys and bad! *IF YOU DON’T WATCH THE SHOW, DON’T READ ON!!! The Governor (David Morrissey) managed to murder Hershel (Scott Wilson) and leave the prison uninhabitable for anybody to live in, including his “new-found family,” before he, himself, was killed by Michonne (Danai Gurira). This left all of the characters fending for themselves and running off in smaller groups. The attack also left Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Carl (Chandler Riggs) in sheer agony when they found baby Judith’s car-seat empty and stained with blood in a heartbreaking, but wonderfully acted closing scene. The show will pick up with the remaining half of the season again in February, so fans will just have to throw themselves into the Holiday spirit until then! Have a good wait!

AMC Confirms 5th Season for Walking Dead

With the 4th season of The Walking Dead now in full swing, the producers behind the show have been given the green light by AMC to continue the show for a 5th season. The producers will have plenty of material to work with. Season 3 ended with the unexpected departure of the Governor and the entire city he commanded falling to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew as they take shelter behind prison walls. While we haven’t (SPOILER ARLERT!!) seen or heard anything of him yet this season, I would say it’s too early to assume that we won’t be seeing more of him. This season has also introduced a new threat to the survivors: the flu, making survival not only a game of defense, but also of adaptation without modern medicines. We’ll have to wait and see how Rick and the others decide to deal with everything. Catch up on seasons 1-3 on Netflix, then watch the 4th season Sunday nights at 9/8c on AMC!
