Allan Kingdom started the year off with his annual birthday party in his hometown, but celebrated early with the release of his remix to Lil Yachty’s “Minnesota.” Arguably the best version of the bunch, Allan has brought justice to the great state of Minnesota once and for all. Check out the remix below for yourself and be on the look out for more from Allan Kingdom.
Atlanta’s hip hop scene has held the crown for nearly 10 years now and it isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Just as the last batch of artists hit their stride, an entirely new cast of MCs is currently catching fire. Chris Fresh is arguably one of the newest on the scene, his connections with the production crew 808 Mafia has jump started his rise. His single “What” had the underground going insane, it was only a matter of time before we saw a remix and this one proceeds expectations. With features from Lil Yachty, Playboi Carti, MadeinTyo, and UnoTheActivist; the record has enough buzz to blow your speakers. Check it out for yourself above and stay tuned for more.
In honor of Father’s upcoming shows in Minneapolis & Chicago next weekend, we’re posting his new remix for “Fake AF” featuring none other than Playboi Carti. If you happened to be at Soundset then you saw the level of hype Father brings to the stage. Say what you want about his music, but you can’t deny his ability to get any venue rocking. Peep the remix below and make sure check out Father next weekend.
A couple of days ago, AATS dropped a new remix EP titled, Cloak & Dagger. The project features the standard version of the record with 6 remixes, all of which have their own unique sound. Upon opening the e-mail we didn’t really know what to expect, but we have to say that this is the first time we’ve enjoyed listening to the same song 7 times. AATS will be live at the Kitty Cat Klub this Saturday for those looking to catch him live. Check out the Cloak & Dagger remix EP below and make sure to check out AATS live this weekend at Kitty Cat Klub.
We recently received a new track from Taylor Rave and the record’s pretty awesome. This time around, Taylor takes Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teenage Spirit” and morphs the track into an EDM hit. We all miss Kurt, but Taylor’s remix brings to life what we’ve lost. A solid remix from one of Minneapolis up and coming producers. Peep Taylor Rave’s remix for “Smells Like Teenage Spirit” above and keep an eye out for more.
Alex Wiley’s single “Ova” is definitely one of the fan favorites from off of his project Village Party. About a month back, Brooklyn producer YMNO dropped a pretty dope remix of the Odd Couple produced record. The remix does a good job of standing on it’s own while incorporating the feeling of the original track well. If you missed Alex Wiley at Kitty Cat Klub earlier this winter, then you definitely missed out; check out YMNO’s remix to “Ova” above.
About a month ago Manolo Rose lit up the East Coast with his single “Dope Man”, since then the record has received local air play in the tri-state area and a few other markets. Fellow New York spitters RetroI$Awesome & LoKo KRaZi recently took their turn to shred the track and it’s among the better freestyle attempts. You’ll definitely hear more of this track as G-Unit & Troy Ave have recently made their own remixes as well. No doubt, the record has that classic New York flow, however one can’t deny similarities with the underlying wave of “East Coast Drill” music emanating as of late.
A couple of days ago, Lil Herb dropped the visual for the remix of his track “Fight of Flight”. Filmed on the Eastside, Herbo receives a hell of a feature from Common along with Chance The Rapper. Although 2014’s murders have been down compared to 2012 per-say, Chicago’s Southside continues to be plagued by gang/drug violence and something needs to give. Check out the video for “Fight or Flight” above and stay tuned for more.
The homie $teez Dolphyn recently remixed Doja Cat’s track “So High” resulting in a heavy hitting, trance like upgrade. With a sound almost slow’d n screw’d, this track is definitely one to bang with the windows all the way down. $teez has been under the radar, but he’s continuing to impress. Click the link below and spark one up to this.
The other day, Rich Lee X sent us his new remix to Sam Smith’s track “LALALA”. The instrumental definitely bangs as it transitions, clubby yet still gritty enough. Another nice track in preparation for his upcoming project 1333, check out the record below and stay tuned for more.
