Throughout the day you’ll see performances from Greg Grease, Andrew Broder, Freez & Mike Frey, UpRock and Crescent Moon; we wouldn’t be surprised if a few special guests appear. Record Store Day seems to get bigger and bigger every year. As Rhymesayers’ home base, Fifth Element plans to host one hell of a Record Store Day function. With live performances from Lizzo, deM atlaS, ECID, CeeWhy & Guerilla Panic along with all day DJ sets, Fifth Element might be the only place to be come Record Store Day. In addition to the cool lineup, there will be a bunch of Fifth Element/Rhymesayers gear on sale along with special releases for RSD only. This should be a good time, if you don’t have anything going on; get down to Fifth Element.
As many already know, this Saturday is Record Store Day. For those who are unfamiliar with this, we can catch you up to speed. Record Store Day began in 2008 and will forever be held on the third Saturday of April every year. Essentially, the day is to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding the 1000+ independently owned Record Stores. On this day, there will be special Vinyl and CD releases sold exclusively. Many festivities usually occur on this day, including: meet & greets and live performances. In order to participate, a record store must be a stand alone retailer whose primary focus is 50% music retail. So, if you are looking for where to buy your records/cds at participating Record Stores, look no further.
