Nearly 25 years since the release of The Chronic, the Dr. Dre celebrations are at an all time high. This year’s Chicago event will be held at Double Door with a long list of activities and performances. During the night there will be a game show, Dr. Dre karaoke and live performances from the Rapperchicks, 2nd City Citizens, the WHOevers and J. Arthur. ProbCause LIVE @ Lincoln Hall w/ Psalm One a.k.a Hologram Kizzie

When: Sunday, January 18th @ 9PM

Like Minneapolis, Chicago has had a pretty stacked calender for shows in the month of January. Among the many, Chi-Town’s own ProbCause will headline one night of Lincoln Hall’s “Tomorrow Never Knows” Festival. The event showcases up and coming local and national acts providing a platform for many artists. The night will also feature performances from Psalm One a.k.a Hologram Kizzie, Saba (Pivot), Kat V, Cofresi and a set from DJ EarnMoney. These are 18+ and tickets are still available for $15, you can buy 5 day passes for $100, which will grant you access to ALL TNK events during the week. Sean Anonymous Birthday Show w/ Special Guests

Yup, it’s almost that time ladies and gentlemen. Just like last year, Sean Anonymous will be holding his birthday party at 1st Ave’s mainroom, and just like last year the bill looks stacked. This year, the party will be hosted by Phillip Morris & Mark Mallman, along with performances from Sean himself, Doomtree spitter Mike Mictlan, Chicago’s own Psalm One, and Commander Handsome; rounding out what should be a fun night. Pretty Petty Podcast EP.1: THOTS & Other Drugs

The girls from Hologram Kizzie started their Pretty Petty Podcast just over a week ago. The episode “THOTS and other Drugs” features Psalm One, Angel Davanport and Fluffy with special guest NeoDotCom. An interesting listen for sure, with conversations ranging from the “Queen of Petty”, Drake/Diddy, Chicago hip hop and how they all came together as one; they even play a few tracks of theirs throughout. Tomorrow is looking like a busy night for both of our city’s. Not only is it Vogz B-day, the homies Beasthead & Glow Mechanics will be LIVE in Chicago. Jerry’s in Wicker Park will play host to what’s looking like an awesome night of music. The event will feature performances from Fluffy, Psalm One, Beasthead, Deuce Funk Monsters and Glow Mechanics; rounding out what should be a good time. The cover for this one’s only $5 so no excuses, we hope to see you all there.

Dre Day 2014

The Dre Day celebration has grown into one of the year’s most revered dance parties. Put together by Burlesque of North America, Dre Day will be in full effect in both of our cities. The Minneapolis event will feature the likes of Mally, Manchita, Plain Ole Bill and DJ Last Word among others while Chicago’s version will feature Psalm One, The O My’s, Rich Jones and Pugs Atomz as well as many more. If you’re looking for something to get into tonight this should definitely be a good time wherever you happen to be.
