First Look At Upcoming Live Action Adaptation For ‘The Jungle Book’

In an age where remakes and sequels are the go-to projects for major film studios, Walt Disney Pictures is keeping itself quite busy revamping their twentieth-century animated classics into live-action thrillers for modern audiences. Their most recent project, which is now playing in theaters, is an updated version of Peter Pan (simply titled Pan) from director Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) with actors Hugh Jackman (Les Miserables, Prisoners), Levi Miller (A Heartbeat Away, Great Adventures), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy, Unbreakable), Rooney Mara (The Social Network, Her), and Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia, Ted 2). While Peter Pan is definitely one of the more famous Disney characters out there, we at MADE have our eyes fixed on next year’s big Disney release: The Jungle Book. Actor-turned-director Jon Favreau (Iron Man 3, Chef) is leading the project, which features an all-star cast including Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation, The Avengers), Idris Elba (Thor, Prometheus), Bill Murray (Ghostbusters, Zombieland), Ben Kingsley (Schindler’s List, Shutter Island), and Christopher Walken (Pulp Fiction, Catch Me If You Can), with Neel Sethi as Mowgli. The film is expected in theaters in April 2016. Check out the latest teaser trailer here on MADE. Enjoy!

Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘Inherent Vice’ Opening In Theaters January 9th

One of the first releases following the start of the new year will be director Paul Thomas Anderson‘s 1970s LA crime-noir drama Inherent Vice. Anderson, who is known for films like There Will Be Blood and The Master, adapted the screenplay from Thomas Pynchon‘s novel about a pot-smoking detective in Los Angeles who investigates the disappearance of a former lover. The film is lead by an all-star cast that includes Jena Malone (Pride & Prejudice, Into The Wild), Reese Witherspoon (Walk The Line, Mud), Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers, Night at the Museum), Benicio Del Toro (The Usual Suspects, Snatch), Josh Brolin (No Country For Old Men, Men In Black 3), and Joaquin Phoenix (The Master, Her).
