Augsburg College will host an outdoor festival tomorrow dubbed “Grass Graze.” Going down on the campus’ J Lot, the event will feature performances from Poliça, Toki Wright, Milo, Destiny Roberts, Rich Garvey, Sniffle Party, and Julian Finch among others. This one is 18+ and FREE to students of Augsburg College, those of us who aren’t enrolled will have to pay $10 at the gate. Totally Gross National Product will once again host their annual “Totally Gross National Party” outside Icehouse next Saturday. The local label has been known to bring a good party especially with their recent involvement in Red Bull’s Sound Select showcases. Last year’s event was tons of fun and this year’s looks no different with performances from Polica, Jason Feathers, RONiiA, Psymun and many, many more. Pretty sure this one is all ages and tickets are available for $18 in advance ($20 @ door). Icehouse will be providing food and beverages as well as the good people over at PBR. Poliça will be live at Lincoln Hall in Chicago tonight. The group has cooled off a little since the monstrous year they had in 2014, but one can expect them to come with the same energy that’s gained them such a large following. Electro, Pop-Soul…Yup, that’s POLIÇA. Products of Gayngs, the group will headline a show at the Turf Club this New Year’s Eve. In addition to their awesome tunes, Marijuana Deathsquads and Allan Kingdom will also take the stage, rounding out what should be a great time. This one’s 21+ and tickets are already SOLD OUT, if you’re interested in going you’ll need to check Craigslist or Facebook. The event runs from 7PM-10PM, so if you attend you’ll definitely have enough time to find a place to party to bring in the New Year.

With Fall upon us, everyone’s trying to make the most out of every day. With August going down as one of the years best months, September is beginning to look the same. After making a few small appearances on stage following his kidney transplant, P.O.S will headline “The Fucking Best Show Ever”, marking what can be expected as his official return. The lineup for this event is stacked with performances from Poliça, Busdriver, SZA, LE1F, Allan Kingdom, Open Mike Eagle and ZULUZULUU; rounding out what’s looking like a great show. The City Page’s second annual 10 Thousand Sounds Festival is upon us and it appears to have a solid lineup. The event is looking like a good time with performances from Poliça, Allan Kingdom, Carroll, Frankie Teardrop and a “very special” guest, they’ve already noted that it will NOT be The Replacements. Early bird tickets for the festival are no longer on sale, which was a great deal. The prices were bumped up to $25 which ain’t so bad either. If you happen to snooze, tickets will be $30 at the door and if you want to go all the way, VIP passes are available for $40. Minneapolis’ music scene is smoking hot right now, with names like Polica, Lizzo, DoomTree & Har Mar Superstar becoming known nationwide & overseas; the city is finally starting to get some overdue cred. This coming Thursday, Polica & Lizzo will be stopping in Chicago for what should be a good show at Metro. Kurt Cobain was once quoted saying that The Metro was his favorite place to perform, speaking volumes about the venues intimacy; which is a little harder to find now a days. That being said, if you’re in Chicago next Thursday you should definitely get down to Metro for a one of a kind show; stay tuned for more as both acts continue touring.
Marijuana Deathsquads have released their highly anticipated project “Oh My Sexy Lord” via online stream through Spin Magazine. As you would expect the album is jam packed with insane sounds and features the likes of P.O.S, Ryan Olsen, Isaac Gale & Ben Ivascu amongst a healthy cast of other notable artists.
