This past Tuesday, we made our way into Honey for another dope night of music. With performances by: John Shrimpnose and Prophetta, Jaylap and Tyy P, Rich Garvey, and Sayth – we were in store for a full night of hip-hop. Peep the pics below and stay locked for more to come!
This past Saturday night, we made our way over to The Creek for their launch party. The event featured performances from: Finding Novyon, Adora Tokyo (Vocal set), Chris Hooks (DJ Set), and Connye, among others. With a full house packed from wall to wall, the place was jumpin all night long. The event was the first for Minneapolis and we expect to see more of these to come. Scroll through some pics below and continue to stay locked here at MADE for more Recaps.
Last night, we made our way over to the Skyway Theatre to catch Dwynell Roland, paired with The Rotation. Opening up the night with 98 Regal’, which possesses all the tools to be a classic – the crowd instantly moved in on the stage. This is nothing new, as the Dwynell and the crew set fire to the stage captivating those in the venue. Playing new tracks to a few older, we saw a variety of what Dwynell has behind the belt. If you missed the show last night, make your way over to the U of M campus this Saturday.

Over the weekend, we made our way to a house party in Northeast, Minneapolis, to see Tickle Torture perform and are we ever glad we made it. Hot, sweaty and packed with naked-gold painted bodies – the night was not one to miss. Between hydrating with the unlimited margaritas and the bottles of wine that were passed around, there was an unhealthy amount of sweat…but it made it that much better. By the end of the night, some were naked and the gold paint wore off, all while confetti canons were fired. This was easily the most memorable Tickle Torture show to date and we were there to help capture the moment.
Stay tuned later this evening for the full album to be posted exclusively here through MADE.
We made our way into 7th Street Entry this past Tuesday, for what ended up being one of the finer nights of the year. With the opening performance by Milwaukee’s IshDARR, the crowd was hyped, moving in on every inch to the stage. IshDARR captivated every moment and had the crowd throwing up their arms from start to finish, making for a strong second visit to the Twin Cities.
Once GoldLink made it to the stage, it was a wrap. The intimate venue filled up and many familiar faces were in attendance to witness the performance. Thanks go out to Greenroom Magazine for helping make this one happen, as the show wasn’t one to miss. Make sure to stay locked here for more images from GoldLink’s complete set later this evening.
This past weekend marked the 20th anniversary of Minneapolis’ Art-A-Whirl. The weekend is host to the largest open studio tour in the entire country. Packed with a wide variety of activities, including: live music, art galleries, and lots of open block parties – Minneapolis really does it right on this weekend. With what looked like a gloomy weekend leading up to the festival, it ended up being a rather sunny and enjoyable weekend (until dusk hit). A few highlights from the weekend included Pho and Black Market Brass throwing down at Bauhaus Brewery. Anyways, all in all we had a great time and already are planning for the week ahead. Take a look through a few photos if you like, otherwise stay tuned for more to come!
