Vic Mensa – Wings Ft. Pharrell Williams & Saul Williams

As the anticipation builds for Vic Mensa’s new album, The Autobiography: As Told By Vic Mensa, He’s followed his critically acclaimed mixtape with what appears to be a first single. Titled “Wings,” the record features 2 legendary artists in Pharrell Williams and Saul Williams, no relation. Over the years Vic has really showed us that is as versatile as any artist out there, “Wings” is another example of how his technical songwriting continues to expand. Still a half decade away from 30, Vic Mensa’s journey thus far has been enthralling to say the least. If “Wings” is an indicator of what to expect from his upcoming album, lets just say he’s raised the bar. Check it out below and stay tuned for more from Vic Mensa.

DX x Pharrell – This is not a Toy

'Penelope the Heavy Trooper' by Huck Gee (credit: Huck Gee)

This is not a Toy, is an non-for-profit exhibition in Toronto, Canada, which requires the support of donors for the contemporary art. The event officially opened on February 7th, 2014, and remains open through May 18th, 2014. The show mainly features life size toys, that are never meant to be played with. “This is not a Toy” will also have music, sculptures and many interactive pieces for viewing pleasures. Each visitor is said to receive a painball gun, and are allowed open fire on some blank Munnys as one of the interactive art pieces, which sounds pretty awesome if you ask me.

There have not been a lot of events like this one, and it does need the help from others to make sure this can happen again. Pharrell Williams, is a guest curator for the exhibition, as he has donated a lot of his own pieces.

Some of the featured artists include: KAWS, takashi murakami, yoshitomo nara, friendswithyou, huck gee, coarse, frank kozik, misaki kawai, DOMA, bill McMullen and more.
