Last Sunday, Phantogram headlined the Palace Theater for the final night of the venue’s re-opening weekend. The sold out space was HUGE, cavernous at the upper levels, but the views were solid from pretty much all angles. The crowd arrived ready to have a good time and opening band, The Veldt, did a great job of harnessing that energy. The snow was falling outside, but you wouldn’t have known it by the size of the crowd just before Phantogram went on. The stage display made their performance even more dazzling and lead singer Sarah Barthel was electric from the moment that she stepped on stage. The sound throughout the evening was excellent as well as the lighting, the Palace is worthy of it’s place among Minneapolis’ top venues. Phantogram played a gamut of their most recent hits, including an encore performance that gave everyone more than their money’s worth. A stunning display, I’d recommend buying your tickets early the next time they’re in town. Check out the photos above and be on the look our for more from Phantogram.

This Sunday, the Palace will celebrate it’s opening weekend with 3 sold out shows in a row, the 3rd of which will feature electro rock duo Phantogram. They’ll wrap up the rest of their national tour before they head to Romania for the first stop of their international leg. The Veldt will open up the night rounding out what should be an electric evening. This one is 18+ and tickets are already SOLD OUT, if you’re dying to go you’ll have to opt for Craiglist or scalpers.
Now this is what I call fresh, DAYUMMM! Big Boi and Phantogram, I would have never of imagined this collaboration, but it exceeds any expectations. This smooth-Jazz flow is simply one to keep on repeat. If this is anything indicating what the upcoming OutKast album will sound like, we are all for it. In just a few months, this will be played lakeside, guaranteed.
WARNING: If you press play, your next 5mn will be consumed by these funky vibes. Enjoy.
