‘Zoolander 2’ Now Playing In Time For Valentine’s Day

This Valentine’s Day weekend will see plenty of big screen features released for you and your date to go and see for your big date night outings. First up is the new comic-book adaptation for Deadpool with Ryan Reynolds (Safe House, Self/Less) and Morena Baccarin (Heartland, Spy), which, considering it’s an R-rated comic adaptation, has many fans waiting in high anticipation for last night’s midnight showing. The second up is the long awaited comedy sequel Zoolander 2, featuring Ben Stiller (Dodgeball, Meet the Parents), Owen Wilson (Old School, Wedding Crashers), Penelope Cruz (Blow, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game, Black Mass), and Will Ferrell (Superstar, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy). This time out, supermodels Derek and Hansel must join forces once again to stop an opposing company lead by longtime rival Mugatu (Ferrell) from putting them out of business. Ben Stiller got behind the director’s chair for the new film, and also co-wrote the movie with screenwriters Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2), Nicholas Stoller (Fun With Dick and Jane, The Five-Year Engagement), and John Hamburg (Along Came Polly, I Love You Man). The trailer is available here on MADE. Enjoy your Valentine’s Day weekend!

New Trailer Available For ‘2oolander’ In Theaters February 2016

Reactions by fans to the news that there would be a second Zoolander was pretty mixed, although it didn’t necessarily come with any real surprise considering Hollywood insists on banking on 20-year-old franchises these days. Nevertheless the rumors were true and production has been underway for sometime now, with the upcoming release for Zoolander 2 scheduled for February 12, 2016. Ben Stiller (Meet the Parents, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) and Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers, Midnight in Paris) are reprising their roles as fashion models Derek and Hansel, whose careers are now threatened by a new company attempting to put them out of business. Ben Stiller is once again behind the director’s chair, working from a script by himself and original Zoolander screenwriter John Hamburg (Along Came Polly, I Love You Man), along with Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2) and Nicholas Stoller (Yes Man, Get Him To The Greek). Director Luc Besson Announces New Pablo Escobar Biopic With Javier Bardem And Penelope Cruz

besson
French filmmaker Luc Besson.

Director Luc Besson (The 5th Element, Taken) recently announced at the Cannes Film Festival that his production company, EuropaCorp, is currently working on developing a new Pablo Escobar biopic with Oscar-winners Javier Bardem (No Country For Old Men, Skyfall) and Penelope Cruz (Blow, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides). Titled Escobar, the screenplay will be based on the book Loving Pablo, Hating Escobar by author Virginia Vallejo, but the movie is still extremely early in production (which is not really a bad thing considering Benicio Del Toro’s Escobar: Paradise Lost is still awaiting worldwide release) and Besson will not be directly involved with this project himself. He is currently in the process of getting Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets off the ground while also serving as producer on Warrior’s Gate (2015) and The Lake (2016), so writing and directing duties for Escobar are expected to fall on Fernando Leon Aranoa (A Perfect Day, Familia). Stay tuned for more news.

The Counselor Coming To Theaters Next Week

the-counselor-poster

Director Ridley Scott’s upcoming crime drama The Counselor is finally coming to theaters next week! With Scott’s name attached to the project, the film already has plenty of credibility, but the fact that the director has assembled an all-star cast for the picture is even better! Michael Fassbender is leading the film in the role of the Counselor, who gets more than he bargained for when he becomes involved in a drug-trafficking scheme. Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem, and John Leguizamo will also be appearing in the lead supporting roles. The film was written by Cormac McCarthy, who co-wrote No Country For Old Men with the Coen brothers, as well as The Sunset Limited, a film driven by the philosophical discussion of two men (Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones) as they cover their opposing beliefs about history, racism, religion, and a variety of subjects. This has been Scott’s first directorial release since Prometheus in the summer of 2012; he is currently filming his next project, Exodus, based on the biblical story of Moses and starring Christian Bale and Aaron Paul. The film is set to hit theaters in December 2014, but in the meantime, be sure to go see The Counselor next week!

Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul Joins Ridley Scott’s Exodus

With the final season of Breaking Bad winding down on AMC, Emmy award winner Aaron Paul is moving on to bigger and better projects! Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton have taken the lead roles as Moses and Ramses in Ridley Scott’s upcoming epic Exodus, and now Aaron Paul will be joining the cast, along with A-listers Sigourney Weaver, John Turturro, and Sir Ben Kingsley. Paul is slated to play Joshua, the young Hebrew who is given the task of leading the people into the Promised Land by Moses. Turturro and Weaver have been given the roles of Ramses parents, while Kingsley has thus far been been rumored to be playing a Hebrew scholar. Scott’s next film, The Counselor, will be hitting theaters this October, and also has a star-studded cast including Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Michael Fassbender, Penelope Cruz, and Javier Bardem. Be sure to stay caught up with the final season of Breaking Bad, Sunday nights at 9/8c on AMC.

The Counselor Trailer

Although I’ve already had enough of Brad Pitt this year with the bombshell disappointment that is World War Z, the actor does play a big part in the upcoming Ridley Scott movie The Counselor. The movie revolves around an attorney who gets involved in drug trafficking and is director Ridley Scott’s first feature-length release since Prometheus in 2012. In addition to Pitt, Scott is directing an all-star cast for the flick including Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diez, Michael Fassbender, and John Leguizamo. Check out the teaser trailer here on MADE! The movie is set for release October 25th.
