Allan Kingdom – The Fusion Ft. Denzel Curry

Allan Kingdom’s debut album, Lines, released earlier this year to wide spread acclaim. The young, St. Paul based artist has grown into one of the state’s most impressive musical exports. One of the standout songs on the album featured his long time collaborator, Denzel Curry. Dubbed “The Fusion,” the visual sees AK as a mad scientist of sorts confined to a lab full of beakers. Allan’s features felt very deliberate on Lines, Denzel Curry puts forth a great verse capping off a song that should definitely see some radio time. GoodKarmaNiles & Arvell Genius – Made For This (Video)

The SPVCE crew has always had a unique aesthetic and sound, some would even say they’ve influenced many of the younger artists coming up in the Twin Cities. 2 members, GoodKarmaNiles & Arvell Genius, recently released a visual for their track “Made For This.” The uptempo, heavy hitting instrumental rolls along while both artists contribute solid verses. SPVCE is really coming into themselves as a collective, hopefully this is just the tip of the iceberg. Peep the video for “Made For This” above and keep an eye out for more from SPVCE.

His latest video “Misfits” delivers a powerful message while still captivating the listener musically. The visual shows how a few minor decisions can possibly change the outcome of one’s day, a scuffle at the corner store, a will to not fold under peer pressure; lessons to be learned for any kid growing up in the inner city. Allan Kingdom – Know About It (Video)

Allan Kingdom took to Twitter last week to announce the release of a new music video, as well as the release of a new project dubbed Lines. Directed by Cole Bennett of Chicago based Lyrical Lemonade, the colorful visual fits the record well. The green screen approach isn’t always effective, but Bennett does a good job of keeping things fresh. Allan’s versatility shines bright, his prowess with auto-tune has translated into songs with a lot of depth. This one could easily hit air-waves just in time for the summer. Check out the video for “Know About It” above and keep an eye out for Lines April 7th.

Bobby Raps – Purgatory (Video)

Bobby Raps has been heating up as of late, the Twin Cities artist took to Worldstar HipHop yesterday to premiere the video for his latest track “Purgatory.” Directed by Stephen Maturen, the visual compliments the song very well. Dark and gritty, Bobby gets personal on this record exploring his inner depths; a powerful practice of introspection. RP Hooks – Pac Talk (Video)

RP Hooks has always had some of the more artistic visuals in the Twin Cities, his most recent release, “Pac Talk,” continues that trend. Directed by Alan de Leon Taverna, the visual takes on a dark tone that matches the record perfectly. Minimalist, the video does a good job of providing a cinematic feel. Hooks’ abrasive style sounds rebellious in a world where tension is mounting, short but sweet; this track definitely sets the tone. Watch For Director Adam Smith’s ‘Trespass Against Us’ Coming In 2017

Director Adam Smith’s family-crime drama Trespass Against Us received an Official Selection nod at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), as well as top nods at the British Independent Film Awards and the Zurich Film Festival. Following a number of runs at various film festivals here in the United States, the film received a brief limited release back in January, but as of now we have yet to see it picked up for major distribution in theaters nationwide, but here’s hoping that changes! Written by documentary director Alastair Siddons (Turn it Loose, Inside Out), Trespass Against Us follows a man who comes into conflict with his outlaw father and family after he decides he must find a way out of his own criminal world in order to provide a better future for his own family. Michael Fassbender (Macbeth, The Light Between Oceans) and Brendan Gleeson (Cold Mountain, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) lead the cast as Chad and Colby Cutler, the father and son who come to arms with each other over the former’s desire to break free of his criminal past.
