New Sci-Fi Thriller ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Opening In Theaters This Friday

A new sci-fi thriller called 10 Cloverfield Lane is opening in theaters this Friday, March 11th, 2016. Although you might recognize the title, aside from the name, there is apparently no other connection to the original 2008 thriller Cloverfield, which involved a monster of sorts attacking the residents of New York City. This new movie comes from director Dan Trachtenberg from a script by screenwriters Josh Campbell (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Van Helsing), Matthew Stuecken (The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra), and Damien Chazelle (Grand Piano, Whiplash) about a woman who is involved in a car accident and is held in a shelter by two men who believe the world has been affected by a widespread chemical attack. Starring in the film are actors John Goodman (The Big Lebowsky, Argo), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Live Free or Die Hard, Death Proof), John Gallagher (Margaret, The Newsroom), Douglas M. Griffin (Dallas Buyers Club, 12 Years A Slave), Suzanne Cryer (Wag the Dog, Silicon Valley), Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook, The Hangover), and Sumalee Montano (Nashville, Veep). The trailer is available here on MADE; check it out on the big screen this weekend!

New Trailer Available For ‘2oolander’ In Theaters February 2016

Reactions by fans to the news that there would be a second Zoolander was pretty mixed, although it didn’t necessarily come with any real surprise considering Hollywood insists on banking on 20-year-old franchises these days. Nevertheless the rumors were true and production has been underway for sometime now, with the upcoming release for Zoolander 2 scheduled for February 12, 2016. Ben Stiller (Meet the Parents, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) and Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers, Midnight in Paris) are reprising their roles as fashion models Derek and Hansel, whose careers are now threatened by a new company attempting to put them out of business. Ben Stiller is once again behind the director’s chair, working from a script by himself and original Zoolander screenwriter John Hamburg (Along Came Polly, I Love You Man), along with Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2) and Nicholas Stoller (Yes Man, Get Him To The Greek). Since director Danny Boyle‘s new Steve Jobs project was picked up by Universal Pictures, some new changes have been made to the supporting cast. Michael Fassbender (12 Years A Slave, X-Men: Days of Future Past) is still set to lead the film as the Apple co-founder, and Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express, This Is The End) is attached to star as co-founder Steve Wozniak, but Natalie Portman has unfortunately dropped out of the film. Since Portman has decided to leave, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (A Few Good Men, The Social Network) is looking to fill the remainder of the supporting cast, including the role of Apple CEO John Sculley. News from Deadline indicates that his top contender for that role is The Newsroom‘s Jeff Daniels, but an official contract has yet to be drawn up. We’ll keep an eye out for a final cast list.

Jeff Daniels Is Taking A Role Alongside Matt Damon In Ridley Scott’s ‘The Martian’

With the release of Dumb and Dumber To drawing nearer as we approach the holidays, and the final season of HBO’s The Newsroom airing this fall, Jeff Daniels has had to fill his schedule for the upcoming 2015 calendar, and his new project seems a pretty good choice. Daniels will appear as the director of NASA alongside Matt Damon in director Ridley Scott’s upcoming space drama The Martian, which is scheduled for release next November. The story follows Damon as an astronaut stranded on Mars and his mission to survive until a rescue mission is sent to bring him back to Earth. Although this seems somewhat reminiscent of Brian DePalma’s Mission To Mars (2000), it should still make for a good watch. Scott is behind such films as Alien (1979), Blade Runner (1982), Gladiator (2000), Matchstick Men (2003), American Gangster (2007), Robin Hood (2010), and The Counselor (2013), and Jeff Daniels and Matt Damon are both highly versatile actors, with Daniels being known as much for his dramatic abilities as his comedic skills. Other names attached to the project include Jessica Chastain (The Help, Zero Dark Thirty), Kate Mara (House of Cards, Transcendence), Kristen Wiig (The Brothers Solomon, Despicable Me), and Michael Pena (The Lincoln Lawyer, American Hustle). We’ll look out for more news.
