The annual Kimball House party goes down this weekend and the lineup is absolutely nuts. As if a bangin party wasn’t enough, there will be performances from Fess Grandiose, Netherfriends, Auggie The 9th, Hurt Everybody, Rio, Rich Jones, Sev Seveer and MORE. If THAT isn’t enough, the event is FREE. If you’re looking for something to do, look no further, we attended the 3rd one and it was a good ass time.
It seems like every week we get some newness from the Hurt Everybody guys. This time around, they’ve linked up with fellow Chicagoan Netherfriends on a track titled “Round Here”. You can hear Netherfriends’ sound all over this instrumental as Supa & Carl do what they do best. Time will only tell what’s next for each of the artists involved in this track, Netherfriends continues to build his catalog of collabs while Hurt Everybody continues relentlessly with the releases. Check out “Round Here” above and keep an eye out for more from Netherfriends & Hurt Everybody.
Netherfriends continues his “Untitled” Film Project with the 3rd installment entitled “Uptown Boys”. Directed by Everett Ravens, Netherfriends once again gives us a little insight into who he is, what he does, and where he wants to take his craft. This video marks the halfway point of the project and we have to say, Netherfriends is pretty damn interesting. From his music to his ideas, the dude is someone we imagine will be around for a long time. Check out part 3 above and stay tuned for the 4th installment.
Netherfriends continues his “Untitled” Film Project with an intro that allows listeners to get more acquainted with the man behind the music. A one man band of sorts, Netherfriends is a smart man, he spends his summers in Chicago and the winters touring. Everett Raven does a good job once again with the visual, check it out above and keep an eye out for part 3 soon.

Chicago & Minneapolis are smokin hot right now when it comes to anything hip hop. Whether it’s growing events like Soundset, an endless pool of talent or the revival of the good old house party/show; it’s looking like a good summer for both cities. The New Deal Crew will host NewDealPALOOZA! at The Mansion tonight with a stacked roster including Saba, Roy French, Netherfriends, Sulaiman and a few special guests from the Legion of Dudez. $2 drink donations will be encouraged, but bringing your own booze is advised; if you’re near Logan Square you should definitely hit this up.
Netherfriends dropped a new visual a couple of weeks back entitled “Joey Vision”. This video is the 1st in a 5 part series directed by Everett Ravens. Set at any office just about anywhere in America, one fed up employee decides to say fuck it all when pushed too far. With Netherfriends setting the mood along with a guy wearing a Jerry curl?, the madness ensues. Netherfriends seems to just be getting started as he continues to drop dope material on a consistent basis, you may remember this track from his latest project P3ACE. It’ll be interesting to see how the next 4 pan out, peep the visual above and make sure to stay tuned for the next one.
While living in Chicago, the kid Cody DeCamry introduced me to Netherfriends’ music. Lets start at his name….awesome right? Well not nearly as awesome as the above video for his track “Uptown Boys”. A Kimball House resident (crazy parties), Netherfriends is one of those all encompassing musicians that seems comfortable moving across genres and usually does it with ease. Peep the visual for “Uptown Boys” above and check out P3ACE if you haven’t yet.
