Soundset 2018

Location: 1265 Snelling Avenue N, St. Paul (State Fair Grounds)
When: Sunday, May 27th // 11AM-9PM

Rhymesayer’s annual Soundset Festival will once again take over the Minnesota State Fairgrounds for what should be yet another good time. Although some people were a tad upset with last minute no shows and randomly switching set times, last year’s event ended up being solid for the most part; especially for anyone who stayed for Travis Scott’s headlining set. This year, once again, the lineup features a very eclectic roster including headliners Erykah Badu, Migos, and Logic; as well as sets from Tyler The Creator, Ice T, Brockhampton, Wu-Tang Clan, and Jaden Smith among others. Soundset has always been about more than just music, so make sure to check out the live graffiti section, car show, and B Boy/B Girl dance off. Soundset is all ages and it appears that VIP passes are already sold out. General admission tickets are still available for the base price of $82 ($97 after fees), but will surely rise as we get closer to the event. Noisey Atlanta: “Welcome To The Trap” Episode 2

Noisey is back with episode 2 of their “Welcome To The Trap” documentary, featuring Atlanta’s current hip hop scene. In the 1st episode, Thomas Morton kicked it with BMF’s Bleu Davinchi and Curtis Snow (Snow On Da Bluff), before meeting The Migos towards the end. In episode 2, he continues his meeting with The Migos with a sneak peak inside the “Bando Mansion”. The Migos might not be the most personable rappers, but the episode still holds some entertainment value throughout. Check it out above and make sure to stay tuned for episode 3.

Noisey Atlanta: “Welcome To The Trap” Episode 1

Vice’s music division, Noisey, is back with yet another documentary, this time documenting Atlanta’s current hip hop renaissance. In episode 1, Noisey links up with Curtis Snow (Snow On Da Bluff) for a little “cooking”, before linking up with Black Mafia Family rapper Bleu Davinchi. Not sure if Thomas Morton was kidding or not, but he actually asks “Who is Big Meech”, a question that anyone who knows Atlanta, or the streets, should definitely know. At the end of the episode Bleu and BMF head to Magic City Strip Club to meet up with the Migos. Check out the first episode above and keep an eye out for part 2.
