Metasota is fresh off a 30+ date tour across the western United States, but still has found time to release new music. Although short, the veteran Minneapolis MC blesses us with some incredible bars over a laid back instrumental. Word play and flow for days on this one, make sure to check out “Gone Home” above and click his soundcloud for the other 4 (yes, FOUR!) records he dropped yesterday.
Location: 701 1st Avenue N, Minneapolis
When: Thursday, March 2nd @ 8PM
PROF’s Time Bomb Tour will wrap up tonight with it’s homecoming show at First Avenue. These guys have been through some crazy times during their trip (van burglary, van breakdown), so it’s nice to see them all back home in 1 piece. The event will also feature Metasota, Finding Novyon, Cashinova and Willie Wonka; we also have a suspicion that you’ll see a few special guests. This one is 18+ and tickets are still available for $20, click the link below to buy yours now before they sell out.
With tour season on the down swing, PROF, Finding Novyon, Metasota, and Willie Wonka are wrapping up their tour throughout most of the western U.S. A monster lineup that is sure to put on a good show in any given city on any given night, the “Time Bomb” tour is a great chance for out of state fans to get familiar. Check out the remaining dates above to see if they’re coming to your town or a town near you.
The south side’s own Metasota recently announced his first headlining tour! A busy man no doubt, he’s currently on another tour right now with Prof, Finding Novyon and Willie Wonka. Mike The Martyr has been dropping loosies as of late, one of which features Metasota and Baby Shel. The laid back instrumental fits each artist well, Martyr goes in first with a punch line heavy verse leading into Baby Shel on the hook. Metasota shows off his lyrical prowess attacking the beat with a flow unmatched by many in Minnesota. A quick record for those patiently awaiting projects from Mike The Martyr and Metasota, check out “Eggs” above and stay tuned for more.
As summer officially fades away Minneapolis’ music scene continues to bring the heat. In the midst of a few other notable releases, Metasota has taken to the net to drop a quick project dubbed Monday Night Raw. Laidback, almost gloomy, Meta reminds us that although there are plenty of things going on in the city on any given night; sometimes you have to sit back and get work done. Heavy doses of lyricism induce smoke filled rooms on this one, perfect record for getting work done on a chill night. The tape breezes by in less than 10 mins, but it’ll definitely have you re-visiting. Check out Monday Night Raw above and keep an eye out for more from Metasota.

The good people over at Studiiyo 23 will celebrate their 5th anniversary this weekend with a massive block party. Not only will they be hosting the stacked lineup of Finding Novyon, Greg Grease, Metasota, BdotCroc, Sarah White, Bionik and special guests Mike The Martyr & DJ Low; they’ll also be throwing their 6th Sneaker & Arts Exchange. This event has flown a little under the radar but we guarantee that it will not disappoint, there will be plenty of things to get into for all ages. That being said make sure you drink responsibly around the youngins, mark your calenders and stay tuned for more.
