Keep an eye out for upcoming TV spots and a potential further release date. The trailer is available here on MADE. Enjoy!

First Look At Upcoming Live Action Adaptation For ‘The Jungle Book’

In an age where remakes and sequels are the go-to projects for major film studios, Walt Disney Pictures is keeping itself quite busy revamping their twentieth-century animated classics into live-action thrillers for modern audiences. Their most recent project, which is now playing in theaters, is an updated version of Peter Pan (simply titled Pan) from director Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) with actors Hugh Jackman (Les Miserables, Prisoners), Levi Miller (A Heartbeat Away, Great Adventures), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy, Unbreakable), Rooney Mara (The Social Network, Her), and Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia, Ted 2). While Peter Pan is definitely one of the more famous Disney characters out there, we at MADE have our eyes fixed on next year’s big Disney release: The Jungle Book. Actor-turned-director Jon Favreau (Iron Man 3, Chef) is leading the project, which features an all-star cast including Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation, The Avengers), Idris Elba (Thor, Prometheus), Bill Murray (Ghostbusters, Zombieland), Ben Kingsley (Schindler’s List, Shutter Island), and Christopher Walken (Pulp Fiction, Catch Me If You Can), with Neel Sethi as Mowgli. The film is expected in theaters in April 2016. Check out the latest teaser trailer here on MADE. Enjoy!

A new drama from director Jerry Jameson (Airport 77, Magnum PI) titled Captive is opening in theaters nationwide this Friday. Based on the novel An Unlikely Angel by Ashley Smith, the film tells of her 2005 encounter with Brian Nichols, who showed up at her apartment in the middle of the night and held her hostage for seven hours before letting her go and turning himself into authorities for murdering four people. Starring as Smith is Kate Mara (127 Hours, Fantastic Four), and Golden Globe winner David Oyelowo (Interstellar, Selma) as Brian Nichols. Making up the supporting cast are actors Mimi Rogers (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Lost In Space), Michael K. Josh Trank’s New ‘Fantastic Four’ Movie Now Playing In Theaters

Today the comic world will get the chance to redeem a classic comic film adaptation that was all but ruined with the original attempts 10 years ago with Jessica Alba and Michael Chiklis. The all new Fantastic Four film from director Josh Trank (The Kill Point, Chronicle) is now playing in theaters, and fans everywhere are in high hopes that the new film will redeem the popularity of the series after a sequel to 2007’s Rise of the Silver Surfer never made it to the big screen. Making up the new group of heros are actors Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now, Divergent), Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station, That Awkward Moment), Kate Mara (Iron Man 2, Transcendence), and Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, King Kong), with Reg E. Cathey (American Psycho, House of Cards), Toby Kebbell (Wrath of the Titans, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) and Tim Blake Nelson (Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, Lincoln) joining the supporting cast. Director Trank wrote the screenplay for the new film with writers Simon Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Jeremy Slater (The Lazarus Effect), which sees the group of youngsters transported to an alternate dimension, strangely altering their physical compositions and providing them with abilities they will need to save the world from a former friend-turned-enemy after he followed them through the dimensional shift. The trailer is available here on MADE. Enjoy!

New Trailer For ‘The Martian’ With Matt Damon Now Available

We’ve been hearing little bits and pieces of Matt Damon‘s upcoming project The Martian for some time now, and finally after months of waiting we have a new trailer!! The Departed and Bourne-series actor will be leading an all-star cast that includes Jessica Chastain (Lawless, A Most Violent Year), Kate Mara (Iron Man 2, Transcendence), Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones), Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber, Speed), and Chiwetel Ejiofor (American Gangster, 12 Years A Slave) in the story about an astronaut who is left for dead on Mars by his crew and must find a way to survive and make Earth aware of his survival. This will be Damon’s second outing as an astronaut following his smaller role in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar last year (which co-star Jessica Chastain also starred). Oscar-winner Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) directed the project from an adaptation of author Amy Weir’s novel by screenwriter Drew Goddard (Lost, World War Z). On a personal note, both Lost and World War Z sucked hardcore in terms of everything, so having Mr. Goddard’s name attached to this film doesn’t really give me high hopes for the story, but considering Ridley Scott is behind the camera, we may still have a movie that’s worth going to see. The trailer is now available here on MADE. Look for the movie in theaters this November 25th.

Jeff Daniels Is Taking A Role Alongside Matt Damon In Ridley Scott’s ‘The Martian’

jeff

With the release of Dumb and Dumber To drawing nearer as we approach the holidays, and the final season of HBO’s The Newsroom airing this fall, Jeff Daniels has had to fill his schedule for the upcoming 2015 calendar, and his new project seems a pretty good choice. Daniels will appear as the director of NASA alongside Matt Damon in director Ridley Scott’s upcoming space drama The Martian, which is scheduled for release next November. The story follows Damon as an astronaut stranded on Mars and his mission to survive until a rescue mission is sent to bring him back to Earth. Although this seems somewhat reminiscent of Brian DePalma’s Mission To Mars (2000), it should still make for a good watch. Scott is behind such films as Alien (1979), Blade Runner (1982), Gladiator (2000), Matchstick Men (2003), American Gangster (2007), Robin Hood (2010), and The Counselor (2013), and Jeff Daniels and Matt Damon are both highly versatile actors, with Daniels being known as much for his dramatic abilities as his comedic skills. Other names attached to the project include Jessica Chastain (The Help, Zero Dark Thirty), Kate Mara (House of Cards, Transcendence), Kristen Wiig (The Brothers Solomon, Despicable Me), and Michael Pena (The Lincoln Lawyer, American Hustle). We’ll look out for more news.

Amanda Lindhout’s ‘A House In The Sky’ Being Produced At Annapurna Pictures

amanda

Amanda Lindhout was abducted by a rebel terrorist group in Somalia back in 2008, and was held prisoner for 460 days before she successfully pulled off a risky escape attempt that involved converting to Islam and being prepped for an arranged marriage by her captors. She then wrote a book about her experience with co-author Sara Corbett called A House In The Sky, which made The New York Times Bestseller List and which will now be made into a feature film by Annapurna Pictures with Rooney Mara (The Social Network, Her) set to star in the film. Annapurna’s Megan Ellison will be producing the project, which is still without a writer or director, but with a star already involved in the production, it shouldn’t take long to fill these positions. Stay tuned for more!
