Chicago’s hot dog game is on another level; red hots, char-dogs, grilled or raw onions, Chicago style toppings or old school style, poppy seed bun or plain, NO KETCHUP; it is it’s own madness. Last weekend we were out late in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village neighborhood and decided to stop by Phil’s Last Stand to finally find out what all the hype’s about. {2:00am, Saturday}: Upon entering, the place was full of all sorts of Chicago’s finest, everyone from drunken college kids, fed up locals; and yes the odd bum or two. Classic atmosphere at any Chicago stand around bar close, the interior was packed but the picnic table filled patio was pleasantly vacant. Both the burgers and the hot dogs were awesome, and like my friend Blanco said, “This place doesn’t give a fuck about fries”; they literally filled the entire basket around the hot dogs. Phil’s easily earned it’s spot within my top 5 hot dog stands in the city, good food, decent prices and they offer more space than the average stand. If you’re ever in West Town or the Ukraine Village on an empty stomach, i’d highly recommend a stop here; you wont leave hungry.

New Comedy Sequel ‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’ Opening In Theaters This Friday

Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express, The Interview), Rose Byrne (X-Men: First Class, Get Him To The Greek), and Zac Efron (That Awkward Moment, We Are Your Friends) are back for another run as enemy neighbors in a sequel to the 2014 comedy hit, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. This time around, with the fraternity moved out, a sorority moves in, and Mac and Kelly must team up with their late frat-enemy, Teddy, in order to handle the new rowdy neighbors. Personally I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want a house-full of college girls right next door, but anything for the sake of comedy I guess. Director Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Five-Year Engagement) leads the returning cast along side actors Chloe Grace Moretz (Carrie, The Equalizer), Selena Gomez (Monte Carlo, Hotel Transylvania), Dave Franco (21 Jump Street, Unfinished Business), and Lisa Kudrow (Friends, Analyze This). The trailer is here on MADE. Catch it in theaters this Friday.

First Full-Length Trailer For Bryan Singer’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Now Available

Last week we caught the first full length trailer for DC Comics’ upcoming Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. This week, however, Marvel has just rolled out a new trailer for Bryan Singer‘s new (and potentially last) installment in the X-Men film series, subtitled Apocalypse. The film follows the new timeline that was established at the conclusion of Days of Future Past, and finds the young generation of X-Men facing an ancient mutant known as Apocalypse, who has the power to destroy civilization as we know it. Original X-Men director Bryan Singer, who also directed X2: X-Men United and Days of Future Past, returned to direct and co-write the screenplay with Simon Kinberg (X-Men: The Last Stand, Sherlock Holmes), along with help from Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris (X2: X-Men United, Superman Returns). Actors James McAvoy (Wanted, X-Men: First Class), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs, Macbeth), Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle), and Nicholas Hoult (About A Boy, Mad Max: Fury Road) are all returning to reprise their roles from Days of Future Past, and will be joined on screen by newcomers Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones, Barely Lethal), Tye Sheridan (Mud, The Tree of Life), Rose Byrne (Get Him To The Greek, Neighbors), who is reprising her role as CIA agent Moira MacTaggert from Days of Future Past, and Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis, A Most Violent Year) in the role of Apocalypse. The film is expected out in theaters Memorial Day weekend 2016. Enjoy the trailer here on MADE.

Michael Keaton Taking Lead Role In Ray Kroc Biopic ‘The Founder’

kroc
The original McDonald’s location, opened on April 15, 1955 in Des Plaines, IL.

In case you’re not aware, the internationally-known fast food franchise, McDonald’s, which first showed up in Des Plaines, Illinois in 1955, was the product of salesman Ray Kroc, who took the revolutionary drive-thru restaurant concept of Dick and Mac McDonald and turned it into a worldwide phenomenon. Now a biographical drama titled The Founder is in the works revolving around Kroc’s life and work and his relationship with the McDonald brothers in a new film with Oscar-nominee Michael Keaton (Mr. Mom, Birdman) in the title role. Director John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side, Saving Mr. Banks) has also already signed on to helm the project, with screenwriter Robert D. Siegel(The Wrestler, Big Fan) providing the script. This one is still very early in production but we’ll keep an eye out for more news as the supporting cast is filled out.

Diablo prod. Larry Fisherman

Alright, so we never post anything from Mac, but we feel this track needs to be here. Diablo, which was released earlier today,  is a prime example of the New and Old school blending together. The wonderfully crafted sample of Duke Ellington and Coltrane’s, “In a Sentimental Mood,” flows from start to finish. Hopefully we begin to see more of this style from Mac and less of his mainstream stuff.

Mac Miller – I Am Who Am (Killin’ Time) [Ft. Niki Randa]

Mac has released another video off of WMWTSO and once again we get some interesting visuals. Throughout the video he spits while sitting in a room full of light bulbs and then it cuts to a woman underwater; this is essentially the entire video. Overall the visuals were shot pretty well, let us know what you think.

Mac Miller Ft. School Boy Q – Gees (Video)

Mac Miller continues to release interesting visuals to accompany his latest album “Watching Movies With the Sound Off”. The most recent is for the track “Gees” which features L.A. MC School Boy Q, the two kick back on a drug induced day in what looks like an average Cali backyard. A cool multi-color lense effect is used throughout the video while both artists lay down some decent verses. Check it out above and stay tuned for more from both up and comers.
