Both Chicago and the Twin Cities’s hip hop scenes have shared a nice amount of success over the last few years. As some of the more notable graduates like Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, Allan Kingdom, and Finding Novyon gain footholds on higher ground, both metros have an entirely new crop of artists blowing up. Supa Bwe & Kembe X are two of Chicago’s best up and coming artists, the latter recently receiving a deal from Kendrick Lamar’s TDE record label. If you’re unfamiliar you should definitely dig into a few projects, this event has a low key feel but it is a must attend for anyone looking for a great hip hop performance. Lucien Parker will open up the night and DJAY Mando will hold down the 1s & 2s, this event is 18+ and tickets are on sale now for $15, click the link below to cop yours now.
Last night, Lucien Parker headlined at The Cabooze and was joined by the likes of: GainesFM, Destiny Roberts, Sieed Brown, Kaleem The Dream and D.A.G. If you couldn’t make it last night, we got your back. Take a look below and stay locked this weekend for more events to come.
Lucien Parker has been putting in work for quite some time now. The Minneapolis artist (WI livin) is as soulful as they come showing off his versatility on every track. His latest project, Black Sheep, has been making the rounds as of late and we’ve got to say; it’s pretty damn good. Laid back, but hard hitting instrumentals provide a perfect back drop for Lucien’s flow. His vocals cruise over the records effortlessly, it’s obvious he’s no rookie. Our favorite tracks feature production from Geek Session, but there are plenty of solid records on the project. Check out Black Sheep for yourself above and keep an eye out for more from Lucien Parker.
Minneapolis’ music scene has a new crop of artists on the rise, one of which being Lucien Parker. The Twin Cities MC recently toured with Wave Chapelle making steady moves across the mid-west. Lucien recently released a new video for his track, “Why So Serious,” although short; he proves he is more than capable. Lucien Parker’s unique sound is what really helps to set him apart from the pack, it’ll be interesting to see what’s next as he gets his next project ready. Check out the visual for “Why So Serious” above and be on the look out for more from Lucien Parker.
Minneapolis’ southside has been making a lot of noise as of late with a plethora of artists emerging outside of that classic “southside” sound. One such artist is Lucien Parker, a true MC that weaves intricate and heartfelt stories into his verses with ease. Lucien recently dropped an EP dubbed Take A Breath, a soulful, jazz influenced record that actually feels good to listen to. Splashes of J. Cole & Chance The Rapper are undertones when one looks at the entire project, sure there is plenty of work to be done, but Lucien Parker is definitely on the right track. Word around town is that he’ll join Milwaukee artist Wave Chappelle on tour at the top of the year, if you like what you hear you can catch him LIVE next Saturday at The Creek.
