As spring gets into full swing, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, is preparing to throw their annual MayDay Parade, Ceremony & Festival. The event is meant to celebrate the upcoming summer months, as well as to shed light on issues that effect the mainly working class Powderhorn community. The oft-slept on Powderhorn Park will host a variety of food vendors along with 5 separate areas of entertainment, including 4 stages. If you’re feeling adventurous you can even grab a canoe ride in Powderhorn’s fairly large lake. The MayDay Festival is FREE and an all ages event, so make sure to be mindful of the young ones. The good people over at Rhymesayers finally announced the lineup for this year’s Soundset Music Festival and it’s fucking insane. This year’s event will be headlined by A$AP Rocky, Future and Atmosphere, with other performances including Common, The Roots, Danny Brown, Post Malone, Machine Gun Kelly, Lizzo, Raury, DJ Marley Marl, Mick Jenkins and Pharoahe Monch among others. With the 2016 festival taking place at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds, everyone can expect much easier access to the event. Arguably the strongest lineup in the festival’s storied history, tickets are set to go on sale at 11AM on March 4th. The early bird rate started at $53 and the level 2 general admissions prices are set at $79, if you happen to snooze you might end up paying $88 for the level 3 tickets. Those interested in buying early should stop by Fifth Element in person on March 4th, that’s literally your best bet to grab tickets at the cheapest price.
