[MADE] Brew of the Week

Lagunitas Brown Shugga’
Shugga
This beer is no surprise, as it has been around for a few years now. Lagunitas has some of the most remarkable beers around, and they constantly do things their way. One of  their highly sought after brews that they continue to pump out during the winter season, is their Brown Shugga’ American Strong Ale.

First off, do not let the price tag fool you ($9.99 a six pack), because these beers are pushing 10% ABV. Literally two beers in, am I am feeling warm and buzzin’ heavy. For real, don’t sleep on this beer if you have been. Each sip brings sweet carmel malt flavors packed with heavy fruit hops – this brew is velvety smooth, leaving me wanting every last drop. If you’re into hops, this beer doesn’t disappoint. Did we mention this one’s seasonal? Yes, and this is why Lagunitas continues to be different, releasing a sweet and hoppy, yet powerful brew for the winter months – instead of a porter or stout.

[MADE] Brew of the Week

☠ EVIL TWIN FEMME FATALE KABOSU

EvilTwin

Halloween is right around the corner, therefore we should feature none other than Evil Twin Brewery, for the MADE Brew of the Week. The famous gypsy brewery, which originated from Denmark, specializes in making one off beers that are quite remarkable. If you haven’t tasted anything from this brewery yet, then make sure to put them on your list of beers to try – they’re that good.

I was recently gifted a bottle of Evil Twin’s, Femme Fatale Kobosu, which is one of many from their Femme Fatale Series. This IPA says it all in the title. Brewed using Kabosu ( a common Japanese citrus fruit), this IPA is bursting with smooth fresh hops and citrusy fruit flavors. I noticed this one coming off similar to a florally Saison. This is one of many brews this company has absolutely nailed. Just be careful when pouring, this one comes packed with carbonation. Take a look at the ever-growing list of their brews below, and keep your eyes open for more from Evil Twin.

Strap up your with your drinking shoes because October is nearly upon us. This week we feature yet another Oktoberfest and rightfully so. Sierra Nevada teamed up with Brauhaus Riegele to make one tasty seasonal brew.

The beer is being hyped by many, so I figured I’d snag a sixer. Well, no need to waste time, because this one is up there with the best. The beer pours a nice gold color and immediately smells of honey and malts. The beer has a great balance of caramel, malts, nuts, and a dry hop finish. Crisp, clear and very little head – this ones gone before you know it. For $7.99 a six pack, you can never go wrong with anything Sierra Nevada does, and this one is up there with the best Oktoberfest’s on the market.
