Minneapolis’ long awaited hip hop radio drought ended at the top of 2016, and Go95 has done everything in their power to keep things on the up and up. A few months back they brought Curren$y to town, but this time it looks like NYC’s own Joey Bada$$ will be making an appearance. The night will also feature hometown favorites Finding Novyon and deM atlaS, as well as Niykee Heaton, not bad for the price of $20. This show is 18+ and advance tickets are still available for a $20 spot ($30 @ door), click the link below to buy yours now before they sell out.
A few years back, we caught the first live performance from Joey while watching Jimmy Fallon live, when he performed “Waves”. Ever since, Joey has been one of the most consistent and influential emcees in the game. Joey made his second appearance last night, so for those of you who happenend to miss it, he killed it once again backed by the Roots. The two groups fit together like soy on rice. . . maybe soon, the two will make a complete record with one another, only time will tell. We apologize in advance for the potato quality, as it is the best the internet offers. Stay tuned for his upcoming record, B4.Da.$$, which will be released January 20th, 2015.
Places + Faces continues with episode 3. During this volume they traverse the night life in both London & Paris with appearances from those mentioned above and more. These are interesting to watch in an odd way, even though there isn’t much commentary. Check out episode 3 above and keep an eye out for 4.
Joey Bada$$ recently dropped a new video for his single “No.99”. The Brooklyn kid has been awfully busy during 2014, especially over the last few months touring and preparing for the release of B4.DA.$$. The visual follows suit with Joey’s rebel style as he and his crew wreak havoc on the streets. They say time repeats itself about every 20 years, if that’s the case Joey is too far off the mark. Check out the video for “No.99” below and be on the look out for B4.DA.$$.

With Joey Bada$$ recently kicking off his “B4DAMONEY” Tour, he offers up a new single from off of the album. Entitled “Get Paid”, the tracks has Joey’s signature old-school sound all over it. Pro Era is definitely on the come up with Joey playing the star, he’ll be in both Chicago and Minneapolis later this week, peep the video below and keep an eye out for more.
This upcoming February, Joey Bada$$ and the Pro Era crew are set to release a new collaborative mixtape. The mix, Secc$ Tap.e Pt.2, should be out around Valentine’s Day, and looks to be the sequel to Pt.1, which came out in 2012. The deeply talented Pro Era crew shouldn’t disappoint on this one and needs to be on everyone’s radar. I just wish they would start spelling things so we can remotely read them, but whatever, they have been killing it lately. Stay tuned for more HERE.
Joey released the Summer Knights EP on iTunes today, and it will be featuring two new tracks. “My Jeep” was released yesterday, and it is pretty dope. The track features Meech, Issa, The Underachievers, and Chuck Strangers (Produced by Lee Bannon). Peep the track, and if you already haven’t, check out the Summer Knights EP.
Joey dropped Summer Knights yesterday on July 1st. I have been hit or miss on some tracks in the past, but on this project his flow keeps the tape turning. He gets a lot of help with a variety of producers including: Chuck Strangers, Kirk Knight, DJ Premier, DOOM, Statik Selektah, Alchemist, Lee Bannon, Oddisee and Navie D). At the age of 18, Joey could really do damage if this continues. Make sure to play this one front to back; you could say it’s a breath of fresh air for Hip-Hop.
