Earlier this year, GainesFM broke through in a major way with the release of his EP, Smile. Since then he has opened up for some of the hottest acts in hip hop and will play Summerset’s main stage this year, not a bad 2017. A couple of days ago he dropped the video for his EP’s title track and it is a visual stunner. Directed by Robert Henry, the video utilizes a variety of special effects and cool locations. Topper Atwood’s heavy hitting production provides a solid platform for Gaines to switch things up a little with an autotune draped flow. One of those songs that always gets the crowd moving, “Smile” now has a visual that does it’s high energy justice. Check out the video above and be on the look out for more from GainesFM.

As the anticipation builds for Vic Mensa’s new album, The Autobiography: As Told By Vic Mensa, He’s followed his critically acclaimed mixtape with what appears to be a first single. Titled “Wings,” the record features 2 legendary artists in Pharrell Williams and Saul Williams, no relation. Over the years Vic has really showed us that is as versatile as any artist out there, “Wings” is another example of how his technical songwriting continues to expand. Still a half decade away from 30, Vic Mensa’s journey thus far has been enthralling to say the least. If “Wings” is an indicator of what to expect from his upcoming album, lets just say he’s raised the bar. Check it out below and stay tuned for more from Vic Mensa.
