Adam DeGross is our favorite concert photographer in Minnesota and in our humble opinion, he’s also one of the best. He recently covered Soundset and has been releasing photos steadily via Twitter and Instagram. Sway in the Morning: Live in Minneapolis Cypher 1


Sway once again brought his namesake morning show, Sway in the Morning, to Minneapolis for his annual Soundset weekend live recording. Filmed at Icehouse, the 1st part of the cypher features local and national artists including Sake Red, Frank Knizza, Darren Sipity, and Scooter Boy among others. A solid showing from majority of the artists who touched the mic, it appears Sway was feeling Minnesota. Tyler The Creator & Mikey123xyz’s “Cherry Bomb” Documentary


Tyler The Creator’s album, Cherry Bomb, was yet another signal that the young artist is indeed one of hip hop’s most creative and dynamic. Whether it’s music, fashion, acting, or directing, Tyler has certainly established himself across a variety of mediums. His latest work comes in collaboration with Mikey123xyz, a California based clothing designer and director. Mikey documented Tyler during the process of finalizing Cherry Bomb and the road to it’s release. An interesting behind the scenes look, you can view the documentary in it’s entirety above.

Every year GYM throws a banging party for his birthday, this time it will go down at Domo Gastro over in Northeast, Minneapolis. The event features a lengthy lineup and you can expect more than a few special guests, making for a eclectic night of music. Both St. Paul and Minneapolis will be well respresented with performances from Saint Laron, Mac Drakula, Prolly Tri$, Vice Boys, Pilot Johnny, and Destiny Spike among others. Lubi – Eyes

We’ve been following this kid for quite some time now and his improvements have shown each step of the way. His last release was at the beginning of 2017, but Lubi recently took to Soundcloud to release a new track titled “Eyes.” Short and sweet, the record’s laid back, breezy vibe is a ballad of love. With spring upon us and the warmer months of summer ahead, this track fits the current weather very well. Lubi shows off his versatility offering a hook that will surely have fans singing along. Will Robinson – Diabolical (Video)


Will Robinson recently released a new video for his track “Diabolical.” Produced by RumbleMusic, the high octane, horn heavy instrumental thumps along while Will manipulates his voice and employs cutting cadences to match the high energy. Shot and edited by M&A Production, the visual’s trippy, colorful editing make great use of Gold Medal Park’s beautiful scenery. An artist who can switch gears quickly, Will Robinson is someone you should keep on your radar. Check out the video for “Diabolical” above and stay tuned for more.

GoodKarmaNiles – Paper Racer Ft. Hard R & Tek


The SPVCE crew has seen an uptick in activity as of late with multiple members releasing new music while taking stages across the metro. Despite some misunderstandings the crew is as solid as ever, Dogfood Media assisting their rise with well captured visuals. GoodKarmaNiles recently dropped a new video titled, “Paper Racer,” gritty and dark in signature SPVCE style it holds true to the record’s feel. St. Paul’s own Tek and one of the southside’s youngest up and comers, Hard R, contribute solid verses; it’s good to get a better look at the entirety of the crew on the same track. At the very end you’ll get a bonus look at “Ghost & Gordan,” check out the video for “Paper Racer” above and be on the look out for the full “Ghost & Gordans.”

Dwynell Roland – Whirlwind (Live on The Current)


Dwynell Roland broke out big in 2016 after the release of his project, The Popular Nobody. He kept the momentum going into 2017 supporting P.O.S on the western leg of his national tour, an opportunity that proved the valuable for the young artist. He recently did an in-studio performance of his song, “Whirlwind,” with The Current. Joined only by producer Travis Gorman, Dwynell’s vocals sound remarkably identical to the actual recording. Drelli – White T Ft. Allan Kingdom & Finding Novyon

Drelli and the So Cold team have been heating up lately with all of the members recently firing off new music. With Allan currently traversing Europe for his “Lines” tour and Finding Novyon preparing to release his debut album, That’s My Dawg, Drelli is making waves of his own with a new record titled “White T.” His 3rd release in a month, Drelli’s sound appears to be growing with each new release. Allan Kingdom & Finding Novyon provide melodic support creating a vibe that sucks the listener right in. Ephemeral in nature, “White T” will have you pressing replay as soon as it ends, check it out above and stay tuned for more from Drelli.

Aphotic (Late Night Art-A-Whirl at PF)

Art-A-Whirl weekend is nearly upon us and the festivities are looking as good, if not better than any previous year. The people from Public Functionary and CMND + CTRL, will join forces for “Aphotic,” a late night party that will include live production, artwork, and DJ sets. Psymun and Devata Daun will both show off their live production skills while DJ Just Nine, DJ Frank Castle, and Ms. Lakesha provide DJ sets.
