Allan Kingdom is indeed on top of his game. The Twin Cities artist recently released his latest album, Lines, and it doesn’t disappoint. The Northern Gentleman has built up an impressive catalog so far, Lines feels like the embodiment of everything he has given us thus far. Experimental yet calculated, the album is injected with a variety of sounds, at times it feels a little disjointed, but each song shows just how versatile Allan has grown to be. Some of our personal favorites include Leaders, Know About It, Feeling Magnetic, and Fuck My Enemies (ft. Kevin Abstract), all of which carry different sounds. Another solid project from Allan Kingdom, check out Lines below and stay tuned for more.
The SPVCE crew has always had a unique aesthetic and sound, some would even say they’ve influenced many of the younger artists coming up in the Twin Cities. 2 members, GoodKarmaNiles & Arvell Genius, recently released a visual for their track “Made For This.” The uptempo, heavy hitting instrumental rolls along while both artists contribute solid verses. SPVCE is really coming into themselves as a collective, hopefully this is just the tip of the iceberg. Peep the video for “Made For This” above and keep an eye out for more from SPVCE.
“THE ENDOWMENT is a celebration of Hip Hop culture and the spirit of resistance that drives it. Featuring some of the most dynamic, boundary-pushing performers in the Twin Cities hip hop scene, as well as dancers, poets, and the legendary DJ Kool Akiem on the wheels of steel, the intergenerational lineup is based around the theme of “what we inherit, we pass on.” In that spirit, the show is also a fundraiser for Twin Cities organization TruArtSpeaks, as well as the birthday celebration of the organization’s founder, Tish Jones.”

Right now, the Twin Cities’ hip hop scene is probably the deepest it’s ever been. For the first time in years, artists are breaking into the mainstream, drawing more attention than ever to our region; not to mention the Grammy and Emmy nods. South St. Paul’s Sieed Brown has definitely put his time in, an accomplished artist of his own, Brown recently released a new track titled “2 3.” Produced by StuhnnahBeatz, the playful instrumental is perfect for the sunny days ahead. Sieed strings tightly placed bars together without hesitation, another solid track from one of St. Paul’s up and comers. Check out “2 3” above and stay tuned for more from Sieed Brown.

Mac Irv is arguably one of the Twin Cities most slept on heavy hitters. Hailing from Minneapolis’ northside, Irv’s tales of redemption and street grit have begun to resonate throughout the cities. His latest video “Misfits” delivers a powerful message while still captivating the listener musically. The visual shows how a few minor decisions can possibly change the outcome of one’s day, a scuffle at the corner store, a will to not fold under peer pressure; lessons to be learned for any kid growing up in the inner city. Check out the video for “Misfits” above and be on the look out for more from Mac Irv.
Chicago artist Energe recently released another new track for his growing fan base, titled “Options.” Produced by Hardii, the up beat, dynamic instrumental allows for Energe to show off all of his strengths.
