The So Cold Records crew has been firing from all sides this year. With the release of his debut album, That’s My Dawg, slated this Friday (June 9th), Finding Novyon took to Twitter earlier today to release another single. Titled “Tall Hills,” the record features fellow So Cold member Allan Kingdom; the two are arguably the hottest one two punch in the Twin Cities. A summer anthem that should see PLENTY of spins at parties and lakes, “Tall Hills” is a banger that simply makes you feel good. Check it out above and be on the look out for That’s My Dawg this Friday.
Arvell Genius is preparing to release a new project, but today he took to Twitter to release a new video titled “Insanities.” Directed by Dogfood Media, who continues to build a solid rapport with SPVCE; the video’s simple nature fits the song’s chill, zoned out vibe. Arvell’s slowed, but complex lyrics hit hardest when he’s speaking introspectively and the video does a good job of making him the center focus. Check out the visual for “Insanities” above and stay tuned for more from Arvell Genius.
Adam DeGross is our favorite concert photographer in Minnesota and in our humble opinion, he’s also one of the best. He recently covered Soundset and has been releasing photos steadily via Twitter and Instagram. Above you’ll find shots of Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, Mod Sun, Playboi Carti and more; keep an eye on his Instagram as he continues to release photos.

Tyler The Creator’s album, Cherry Bomb, was yet another signal that the young artist is indeed one of hip hop’s most creative and dynamic. Whether it’s music, fashion, acting, or directing, Tyler has certainly established himself across a variety of mediums. His latest work comes in collaboration with Mikey123xyz, a California based clothing designer and director. Mikey documented Tyler during the process of finalizing Cherry Bomb and the road to it’s release. An interesting behind the scenes look, you can view the documentary in it’s entirety above.

We’ve been following this kid for quite some time now and his improvements have shown each step of the way. His last release was at the beginning of 2017, but Lubi recently took to Soundcloud to release a new track titled “Eyes.” Short and sweet, the record’s laid back, breezy vibe is a ballad of love. With spring upon us and the warmer months of summer ahead, this track fits the current weather very well. Lubi shows off his versatility offering a hook that will surely have fans singing along. Check out “Eyes” above and make sure to keep an eye out for more from Lubi.
Will Robinson recently released a new video for his track “Diabolical.” Produced by RumbleMusic, the high octane, horn heavy instrumental thumps along while Will manipulates his voice and employs cutting cadences to match the high energy. Shot and edited by M&A Production, the visual’s trippy, colorful editing make great use of Gold Medal Park’s beautiful scenery. An artist who can switch gears quickly, Will Robinson is someone you should keep on your radar. Check out the video for “Diabolical” above and stay tuned for more.
The SPVCE crew has seen an uptick in activity as of late with multiple members releasing new music while taking stages across the metro. Despite some misunderstandings the crew is as solid as ever, Dogfood Media assisting their rise with well captured visuals. GoodKarmaNiles recently dropped a new video titled, “Paper Racer,” gritty and dark in signature SPVCE style it holds true to the record’s feel. St. Paul’s own Tek and one of the southside’s youngest up and comers, Hard R, contribute solid verses; it’s good to get a better look at the entirety of the crew on the same track. At the very end you’ll get a bonus look at “Ghost & Gordan,” check out the video for “Paper Racer” above and be on the look out for the full “Ghost & Gordans.”
Dwynell Roland broke out big in 2016 after the release of his project, The Popular Nobody. He kept the momentum going into 2017 supporting P.O.S on the western leg of his national tour, an opportunity that proved the valuable for the young artist. He recently did an in-studio performance of his song, “Whirlwind,” with The Current. Joined only by producer Travis Gorman, Dwynell’s vocals sound remarkably identical to the actual recording. Check out the performance for yourself above and keep an eye out for more from Dwynell Roland.
