New Drama ‘Genius’ Now Playing In Limited Locations

A new drama called Genius, which is based on the life of editor Max Perkins, is opening in select theaters across the country this weekend. Based on the best-selling biographical novel by A. Scott Berg, the film follows Perkins’ extraordinary career working for Scribner Publishing, where he oversaw famous works by authors like Ernest Hemingway (A Farewell to Arms), F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Great Gatsby), and Thomas Wolfe (Look Homeward Angel), and simultaneously dealt with these authors’ personal dramas and often crippling addictions. Screenwriter John Logan (Gladiator, Spectre) adapted the script for director Michael Grandage (The Madness of King George, Bugs), who is making his directorial debut with this movie. Along with Papa Hemingway in Cuba, there are some great limited releases hitting theaters this weekend. First off is a new drama from actor-turned-director Jason Bateman (Arrested Development, Horrible Bosses), Nicole Kidman (Eyes Wide Shut, The Interpreter), Christopher Walken (Pulp Fiction, Catch Me If You Can), and Catherine Hahn (Step Brothers, Parks and Recreation) titled The Family Fang, which is based on the book by Kevin Wilson. Check Your Local Listings For ‘Papa Hemingway in Cuba’ This Friday

A new biographical drama titled Papa Hemingway in Cuba is opening in select theaters this Friday. The film comes from indie producer/director Bob Yari (Crash, The Illusionist) about young journalist Ed Meyers who, in 1959, travels to Havana to meet his idol Ernest Hemingway in the midst of the Cuban Revolution. Yari directed the film from a script that was written by an old friend of Hemingway, himself: a war correspondent named Denne Bart Petitclerc, who sadly was never able to get the project into full production before he died. Starring in the lead roles of Meyers and Hemingway are actors Giovanni Ribisi (Saving Private Ryan, Avatar) and Adrian Sparks (The Manhattan Project, The Purge: Anarchy), who are supported by James Remar (X-Men: First Class, Django Unchained), Joely Richardson (The Patriot, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Shaun Toub (The Kite Runner, Iron Man 3), and Minka Kelly (Just Go With It, The Path). Ernest Hemingway’s granddaughter, Mariel Hemingway, is also making a cameo appearance in the film. The trailer is available on MADE. Be sure to look for it in theaters in your area this weekend.

The trailer is here again on MADE…but be sure to check this one out on the big screen. It should be a lot of fun!

‘Terminator Genisys’ Opening In Theaters Nationwide This July 1st, 2015

You have probably noticed all of the new TV-spots for the upcoming Terminator Genisys movie, the long-awaited 5th installment in the series that began with writer/director James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar) in 1984. While we did just see an installment several years ago with Christian Bale (The Dark Knight, The Prestige), the big appeal for this Terminator movie is that it will bring the series back to the familiarity of the story-line: futuristic cyborg (reprogrammed by the resistance) is sent back in time to ensure the survival of Sarah Connor, whose son, John, is the leader of the human race against intelligent machines after Judgement Day. It will also see series veteran Arnold Schwarzenegger (Predator, Total Recall) back in his original role as the cyborg-assassin, but this won’t be simply a case of re-making the original. Instead, director Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, Thor: The Dark World) and writers Laeta Kalogridis (Alexander, Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Scream, Drive Angry) will follow the terminator and Kyle Reese as they venture along a parallel time-line to Cameron’s original film (think Back to the Future: Part 2, but with Arnold instead of Marty McFly!). You may have noticed that modern-day Arnold gets into a hardcore fist-fight with his younger self at the end of the trailer…pretty cool shit! The supporting cast will see Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Dom Hemingway) as Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney (A Good Day To Die Hard, Divergent) as Kyle Reese, and Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, The Great Gatsby) as John Connor, with Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man, Whiplash) also making an appearance. The trailer is here on MADE, be sure to catch this one on the big screen on July 1st!

Leading the cast are actors Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Dom Hemingway) and Jai Courtney (Divergent, A Good Day To Die Hard), as well as Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man, Whiplash), Matt Smith (Womb, Lost River), and Jason Clarke (Public Enemies, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as John Connor. The script comes from Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Dracula 2000, Drive Angry), with Alan Taylor (The Sopranos, Thor: The Dark World) taking up the directing duties.
