New Trailer For X-Men Sequel ‘Logan’ Leaves Future of Series in Question

A new trailer has just been released for the new X-Men sequel/independent-stand-alone feature Logan, once again starring Hugh Jackman (Les Miserables, Prisoners) as the Wolverine. This may very well be Jackson’s last outing with the character. Logan appears to take place in a distant, grim-looking future, where his mutation is failing and he plays guardian for Charles Xavier, now suffering from Alzheimers Disease. While the two cope with the loss of the mutants and the X-Men, Wolverine must battle a corporate conglomerate whose only goal seems to be to destroy the world. Just as the two mutants reach the verge of losing hope, they discover a young girl, or clone, who possesses Logan’s same gift of regeneration, and who may very-well-be their only hope of defeating Essex.

Patrick Stewart reprises his role as Charles Xavier, joining Jackman under the direction of The Wolverine director James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma). Mangold assisted in writing the project with screenwriters David James Kelly and Michael Green (Alien: Covenant, Blade Runner 2049), both newcomers to the X-Men movie universe. Boyd Holbrook (Milk, Gone Girl), Stephan Merchant (Hall Pass, The Big Bang Theory), Richard E. Grant (Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Corpse Bride), and Dafne Keen (The Refugees) all appear in the supporting cast. Sadly, no other familiar faces in terms of X-Men or mutants in general are expected to be seen in the film. Continue reading

Final Trailer For Bryan Singer’s Upcoming ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Now Available

The final trailer has arrived for director Bryan Singer‘s upcoming X-Men feature, Apocalypse. If you haven’t been following, the last X-Men movie was Days of Future Past, which found Wolverine going back in time to alter the timeline of the X-Men movies to prevent the end of the world. This new timeline picks up in what I’m guessing would be at least the the late 1980s, and finds Mystique responsible for training the new generation of X-Men to fight Apocalypse, the world’s first and most powerful mutant, who happens to be immortal. Apocalypse awakes after thousands of years and begins amassing power; having seen what humanity has become, he recruits a team of powerful mutants (including Magneto) to cleanse mankind and create a new world order. Screenwriter Simon Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes, Fantastic Four) wrote the script from a story written by himself and director Bryan Singer (X2: X-Men United, X-Men: Days of Future Past), as well as writers Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris (Superman Returns, Krampus). New Drama ‘Joy’ With Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper Now Playing In Theaters

A new drama featuring recurring co-stars Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, American Sniper) titled Joy is now playing in theaters nationwide. The two stars are again directed by writer/director David O. Russell (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook), in the story of Joy Mangano, the woman who invented the Miracle Mop and became the matriarch of her family business and dynasty, but not before she encounters betrayal and treachery on her way to success. Also joining the two co-stars is their third recurring co-star Robert DeNiro (Goodfellas, Casino), with actors Edgar Ramirez (Vantage Point, The Liberator), Diane Ladd (Chinatown, Christmas Vacation), Virginia Madsen (Sideways, Firewall), and Isabella Rossellini (Fearless, Enemy). This is the fourth consecutive film in four years that Lawrence and Cooper have starred in together, and the third that also features DeNiro in the supporting cast. Lawrence and Cooper first appeared together in Silver Linings Playbook (which featured DeNiro) in 2012, and then American Hustle (DeNiro had a small part in this feature) in 2013, followed by Serena in 2014, and now Joy for 2015, which once again features DeNiro. This is also the third outing for director Russell with all three actors appearing in the featured cast, and according to the stars, we can expect even more to be forthcoming! Some may be frowning at the fact that these actors continue to appear in the same films, but their on-screen chemistry is excellent and all of these features have been Oscar and/or Golden Globe contenders, with the exception of Serena. Coupled with the fact that Russell is an original storyteller, I personally am hoping to see more features from this team of talented filmmakers, but we’ll have to wait for further updates to know for sure. Stay tuned!

First Full-Length Trailer For Bryan Singer’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Now Available

Last week we caught the first full length trailer for DC Comics’ upcoming Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. This week, however, Marvel has just rolled out a new trailer for Bryan Singer‘s new (and potentially last) installment in the X-Men film series, subtitled Apocalypse. The film follows the new timeline that was established at the conclusion of Days of Future Past, and finds the young generation of X-Men facing an ancient mutant known as Apocalypse, who has the power to destroy civilization as we know it. Original X-Men director Bryan Singer, who also directed X2: X-Men United and Days of Future Past, returned to direct and co-write the screenplay with Simon Kinberg (X-Men: The Last Stand, Sherlock Holmes), along with help from Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris (X2: X-Men United, Superman Returns). Actors James McAvoy (Wanted, X-Men: First Class), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs, Macbeth), Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle), and Nicholas Hoult (About A Boy, Mad Max: Fury Road) are all returning to reprise their roles from Days of Future Past, and will be joined on screen by newcomers Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones, Barely Lethal), Tye Sheridan (Mud, The Tree of Life), Rose Byrne (Get Him To The Greek, Neighbors), who is reprising her role as CIA agent Moira MacTaggert from Days of Future Past, and Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis, A Most Violent Year) in the role of Apocalypse. The film is expected out in theaters Memorial Day weekend 2016. Enjoy the trailer here on MADE.

New Trailer Available For ‘2oolander’ In Theaters February 2016

Reactions by fans to the news that there would be a second Zoolander was pretty mixed, although it didn’t necessarily come with any real surprise considering Hollywood insists on banking on 20-year-old franchises these days. Nevertheless the rumors were true and production has been underway for sometime now, with the upcoming release for Zoolander 2 scheduled for February 12, 2016. Ben Stiller (Meet the Parents, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) and Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers, Midnight in Paris) are reprising their roles as fashion models Derek and Hansel, whose careers are now threatened by a new company attempting to put them out of business. Ben Stiller is once again behind the director’s chair, working from a script by himself and original Zoolander screenwriter John Hamburg (Along Came Polly, I Love You Man), along with Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2) and Nicholas Stoller (Yes Man, Get Him To The Greek). Actors Christine Taylor (The Wedding Singer, License To Wed), Will Farrell (Old School, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy), and Billy Zane (Back to the Future, Titanic) are also returning to reprise their roles from the original film, along with newcomers Benedict Cumberbatch (12 Years A Slave, The Imitation Game), Olivia Munn (Magic Mike, The Newsroom), Kristen Wiig (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The League), and Penelope Cruz (Blow, The Counselor). Personal politics aside, the trailer does look pretty promising, though perhaps a bit overdone, and seeing Benedict Cumberbatch as a cross-dresser is definitely a step outside of his usual realm of acting, so maybe it will make for a decent Valentine’s date. Only time will tell. The trailer is now available here on MADE. Enjoy the weekend!

New Dramatic Comedy ‘Burnt’ Opening In Theaters In New York and Los Angeles Today

A new “dramedy” titled Burnt from director John Wells (August: Osage County, Shameless) is opening for audiences in New York City and Los Angeles today, with a nationwide expansion expected in the next few weeks. The film comes from a film adaptation of a story by Michael Kalesniko (Private Parts, Iron Sky) by screenwriter Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Locke), centering around a chef who, after ruining his career with drugs and eccentric behavior, returns to London in an attempt to make a comeback by opening a restaurant capable of receiving three Michelin stars. Actor Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle) stars as chef Adam Jones, with actors Sienna Miller (American Sniper, Foxcatcher), Daniel Bruhl (Inglorious Basterds, Rush), Ricardo Scamarcio (My Brother is an Only Child, Loose Cannons), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Jurassic World), Emma Thompson (Love Actually, Saving Mr. Banks), Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill Vol. 1), and Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Man From UNCLE). The film is expected to be a semi-biographical story based around the life of Gordon Ramsey (Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Knightmares). The trailer is available here on MADE. Look for the nationwide expansion to your area in the next couple of weeks. Enjoy the weekend!
