ZuluZuluu “What’s The Price”

ZuluZuluu took to the web today to release their highly anticipated project, What’s The Price. A collective that is only beginning to show what they’re capable of bringing to the scene, ZuluZuluu’s sound is as unique as they come. Drawing inspiration from African traditions, jazz, R&B, electronic music, funk and rock & roll among other genres, Zuluzuluu is a true musical medley. The somber “Black Maybe” opens the project, but you should be dancing by the time you get to the SUPER funky “Fall Behind.” At only 7 tracks, What’s The Price breezes by in about 25 mins, while listening one gets the feeling that not a second is wasted. ZuluZuluu – Black Maybe

ZuluZuluu took to Twitter a couple of weeks back to drop a new single via Sound Verite Records. The band is formed by an eclectic group of collaborators including Greg Grease, Myke Shevy, DJ Just Nine, and Adept among others. The new track, “Black Maybe,” is as spacey as can be with dream like vocals spread across a futuristic soundscape, the drop towards the end of the record really takes things to the next level. We can’t wait to catch these guys live again, until then, check out “Black Maybe” below and stay tuned for more from ZuluZuluu.

Gosh Pith – K9 (Video)

Despite popular belief, the city of Detroit is going through quite the renaissance, new minds and artists of all walks are helping to bring the city back from the depths. One such group helping to bring national attention to Detroit’s budding music scene is Gosh Pith, a duo whose music is pretty hard to confine to a box. A few weeks ahead of their upcoming “Gold Chain” tour, they dropped the video for their most recent release “K9.” The cinematic visual draws the viewer in instantly, the record only cements the overall experience as you watch the story unfold. Gosh Pith will be releasing their new EP, Gold Chain, on February 26th; check out more of their music below and stay tuned for more info regarding their tour.

Doks Robotiks “Doks”

The homies from Doks Robotiks released their new album Doks the other day for all of our listening pleasure. The jazz, hip hop, funk fused band features vocals from Adam Gumm and Konstant Movement with a variety of rotating musicians including Kristofer Bergh, DeCarlo Jackson, Rick Haneman, Rob Hagen, Henry Bergmann, Andre Bocher, and DJ Diatonic. The album plays like a live set, the instrumentation gently layered beneath both artists vocals, the jazz influence running deep throughout. Plenty of substance abound, Doks is a breath of fresh air in a hip hop scene that often comes across redundant. Check out Doks above and make sure to hit up 7th Street Entry tonight for Doks Robotiks’ album release party.
