JessListen and Franz Diego took to Soundcloud the other day to release a new track titled, “Babyface.” Gotta love the energy as both artists go back and forth, line for line; not many MCs can pull it off this well. Solid punchlines all around, both artists do a good job enhancing each other’s next bar. Check out “Babyface” above and stay tuned for more from JessListen and Franz Diego.
Mike The Martyr and Franz Diego took to Twitter recently to release a new record dubbed “Wag Team Exclusive.” You ain’t from the south side if you don’t know about that Wag, it’s been awhile since we’ve heard from the Purple City Pioneer himself Franz Diego, definitely refreshing to hear him back. A nice 1, 2 punch, both artists deliver a pair of lighthearted verses; it’s clear that they had fun with this one. Minneapolis’ own Franz Diego ended 2014 well with the release of one the year’s standout projects in Float. Filled with vibey bangers and lush depictions of the Twin Cities lifestyle, the above video embodies the project nicely. Directed by Alan De Leon Taverna, “Floatin” seemingily places Franz Diego in the middle of no where allowing his mind to drift. Enron Hubbard’s spacey production fits the record and visual perfectly, a well put together body of work. Peep the video for Franz’ single “Floatin” above and click the link below to check out Float in it’s entirety.
Franz Diego of Illuminous 3 recently dropped his project Float for all of our listening pleasure. The 13 track album sounds ultra wavey from front to back with Franz providing a unique sound throughout. From the city anthem “Wag Town Roll Down” to the reflective “White Sand”, this project is solid. Check out Float below and be on the look out for more from Franz Diego.
Location: 315 14th Avenue SE, Minneapolis When: Friday, October 17th @ 9PM
South side spitter and member of Illuminous 3, Franz Diego, is gearing up to drop his new project Float tonight. Kitty Cat Klub will host the event and the bill is looking pretty stacked. Franz will take the stage along with Greg Grease, 1990 & Connye (BLVCK SPVCE), Metasota and DJ Just Nine on the 1s & 2s, rounding out what should be an awesome night. The Equinox EP was pretty dope, so you should expect the same from Float, this one’s 21+ (sorry kids) and the door will only run $6.
