Last Friday, we had the privilege to catch Fool’s Gold artist, Black Atlass, live at our own 7th Street Entry. The evening started with a bang once local producer, c. Kostra, began playing gems off of his new project Now I Feel It. His ambient production and distorted vocals draped the crowd in a warm atmosphere that lingered well into Black Atlass’ energetic set. From the start you could tell that Black Atlass is a professional artist who is conditioned for stage performances. Each movement seemed deliberate and his vocals were unwavering. The poise and command were apparent as he breezed through last year’s Haunted Paradise, standing out with “Tonight” and the title track, “Haunted Paradise.” As he wrapped up his set, the energy in the venue was palpable. The headliner for the night was lauded producer and DJ, OVERWERK who took things up yet another level. His remixes brought majority of the venue onto the dance floor capping off an immersive evening. With the floor packed and everyone getting down the night ended on a high note, I was most impressed by Black Atlass, but each artist had a good set. Check out some of the pictures below and keep an eye out for more.

Nick Catchdubs (Fool’s Gold Co-Founder) recently dropped his debut album, Smoke Machine, among the many bangers lies this jam featuring Show You Suck. Show has been quite vocal in the past about how much he admires/appreciates the good people at Fool’s Gold, so it’s awesome to see him finally get to work with them; it’s like whatever this dude says comes true. The high energy instrumental suits the Chicago MC well, a perfect party record for the approaching summer months.
