The guys from Free Minds took things to an entirely different level in 2017. Not only do they throw some of the biggest shows in the state, their artists are starting to be at the forefront of the Twin Cities’ hip hop scene. Tonight, they’re bringing Baton Rouge’s own, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, up for his first appearance in the Twin Cities. The 17 yr old rapper took off after the release of his 2016 mixtape 38 Baby, then managed to dodge an attempted murder charge, among a slew of other mixtape releases. Free Minds’ own GainesFM will open up the night while Tiiiiiiiiiip holds down the 1s & 2s. This show is 18+ and GA tickets are still available for $20 or you can upgrade to reserved seating for $35. Minneapolis’ long awaited hip hop radio drought ended at the top of 2016, and Go95 has done everything in their power to keep things on the up and up. A few months back they brought Curren$y to town, but this time it looks like NYC’s own Joey Bada$$ will be making an appearance. The night will also feature hometown favorites Finding Novyon and deM atlaS, as well as Niykee Heaton, not bad for the price of $20. This show is 18+ and advance tickets are still available for a $20 spot ($30 @ door), click the link below to buy yours now before they sell out.

Allan Kingdom had a great 2015 and by the looks of things he plans to double up in 2016. The Grammy nominated artist followed up the release of his new album, Northern Lights, with a listening party turned show at the Fine Line. Lucky for us the good people over at Common Culture captured the night perfectly, a beautiful start to 2016. Check out the visual above and keep an eye out for more.

Since being placed on a few key features within the Odd Future camp dating back to 2012, Vince Staples has emerged as one of hip hop’s brightest young stars. The Long Beach native recently embarked on his Circa ’06 Tour starting December 2nd in Philly, luckily for us the tour has stops in both Chicago and Minneapolis. If you had the chance to catch him at this year’s Soundset then you already know the kid puts on a great show. General admission tickets for the Minneapolis event are on sale now for $20, if you want to buy meet & greet passes you can purchase them for $60, click the link below to buy yours now.

Snow Tha Product will be live at the Fine Line tomorrow. The Cali native is known for her razor sharp cadences and battle style punchlines separating herself from some female MCs. Those who attended Soundset in 2014 probably remember seeing her tear it up in the Fifth Element tent, her hard work even landed her a deal with Atlantic Records. Audio Push, Finding Novyon and a few special guests will also take the stage rounding out what should be a good show. The event is 18+ and general admission tickets are on sale NOW for $15, you can go the extra mile and grab balcony seats for $30. Click the link below to buy yours now.

Greenroom Magazine has brought in a lot of talent to the Twin Cities this summer and we’re not even to August yet. They’ll add to their growing list tonight by bringing Kevin Gates and his “I Don’t Get Tired Part 2” tour to the Fine Line. The night will also feature performances from fellow Louisiana artists OG Boobie Black and Solo Lucci. Over the last couple of years Kevin Gates has established himself well within the realm of street hip hop and looks to stick around for years to come. This one is 18+ and tickets are SOLD OUT, if you’re dying to go your best bet is to try Craigslist, Facebook or head down to the Fine Line early to scalp.

Seattle based duo Shabazz Palaces will be live at the Fine Line tonight. If you remember Hip Hop Harambee a few years back, you know these guys put on an awesome show. Led by Ishmael Butler, their unique, alternative form of hip hop feels like a psychedelic trip with momentous tribal influenced percussion interspersed. Harambee was my single experience with Shabazz Palaces live and it was one of the best shows I saw in 2013, so I’m definitely attending this one. The event is 18+ and tickets are available for $17 in advance ($20 @ door), click the link below to grab yours now.
