The long anticipated Ghostbusters reboot with Melissa McCarthy (The Heat, Spy), Kristen Wiig (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Martian), Kate McKinnon (Ted 2, Finding Dory), and Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live, Trainwreck) is now playing in theaters nationwide. Director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) has faced some harsh opposition to rebooting the series, but the film is still expected to earn a large haul at this weekend’s box office. Picking up 30 years after the last installment, a new female crew of ‘busters reopens the original location and works to rid New York of its paranormal residents. Original actors Bill Murray (Caddyshack, Stripes), Dan Aykroyd (The Blue Brothers, Tommy Boy), Ernie Hudson (Joy of Sex, The Crow), Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Avatar), and Annie Potts (Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Toy Story) are all expected to make cameo appearances throughout the film, so it should be a pretty fun summer blockbuster. Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’ Opens In Theaters November 7th 2014

Earlier this year we caught our first look at The Dark Knight and Inception director Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming space adventure Interstellar starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway and now the release date is only a few weeks away! Coming from a script from Christopher and Jonathan Nolan, who have worked together on several projects from Memento (2000) to The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Interstellar follows a group of astronauts who embark on a journey through a newly discovered wormhole to explore the vastness of the universe and find a new home for the human race once our resources on Earth have been exhausted. The supporting cast includes Jessica Chastin, Wes Bentley, Casey Affleck, Topher Grace, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, and Christopher Nolan regular Michael Caine. This will be director Nolan’s first film since The Dark Knight Rises in 2012, but he also lent a hand to the script for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and is also serving as executive producer for the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is currently in the filming process. Interstellar is set to hit theaters this November 7th, so be sure to make an effort to go and see this one.

‘Vacation’ Re-Boot From New Line Cinema Filling Out Remaining Cast Openings

vacation

New Line Cinema is currently filling out the cast members for their upcoming reboot of the classic National Lampoon’s Vacation, and some big names are starting to fill those empty cast slots. The new film will be directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who will also take on the writing responsibilities for the film, and will follow now-grown-up Rusty Griswold as he takes his young family on a new vacation adventure. Thus far the cast consists of Ed Helms (The Office, The Hangover) in the role of Rusty, Leslie Mann (Knocked Up, This Is 40) as Audrey Griswold, Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, Charlie Day, and special appearances by both Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo, who reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen from the original Lampoon classic. While I anticipate that Applegate will be playing the role of Rusty’s wife, Leslie Mann’s Audrey will apparently be married to Chris Hemsworth’s character, anchorman Stone Crandall, but the plot details are still lacking at this point in the production, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for clarification on that. Stay tuned.
