Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will be back in theaters this summer as the undercover cop-duo Jenko and Schmidt in the sequel to 2012’s 21 Jump Street, appropriately titled 22 Jump Street. The movie is once again being directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and the script was written by Michael Bacall (who wrote the screenplay for the first film) and Oren Uziel. The first film was an action-comedy adventure that followed two young cops who are assigned to the precinct at 21, Jump Street and are sent undercover to a high school in order to bust up a narcotics ring. The movie is based on the late 80’s TV hit 21 Jump Street, which starred Johnny Depp and Dustin Nguyen as cops working out of the same precinct. The film adaptation also featured Dave Franco, Ice Cube, and Nick Offerman, who will all reprise their roles for the sequel. The movie is scheduled for release on June 13.
