A modern big screen adaptation of Herman Melville’s epic adventure Moby Dick titled In The Heart of the Sea is opening in theaters this Friday, December 11th. Written for the screen by Charles Leavitt (K-PAX, Blood Diamond) and writing team Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Jurassic World), the film takes the classic tale, based on a real-life maritime disaster in the West Pacific in 1820, to new heights, utilizing stunning visual effects to show the initial series of confrontations leading up to the whale’s sinking of the Essex and the aftermath the crew had to endure in the open sea, with no ship, no food, and no fresh water. While trying to survive, the crew members begin to question both the morality of their trade and the value of life, as captain and first mate collide on their efforts to either survive, or kill the vengeance-driven whale. A new biopic from Oscar-winning director Edward Zwick (Blood Diamond, Love & Other Drugs), titled Pawn Sacrifice, is now playing in theaters nationwide. The script was penned by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Steven Knight (Locke, The Hundred-Foot Journey), and follows the life of American Chess champion Bobby Fischer as he prepares to face-off against the reigning Russian champion Boris Spassky. Starring in the film are actors Toby MacGuire (Spider-Man, Seabuscuit), Liev Schreiber (Scream, The Painted Veil), Robin Weigert (The Good German, Sons of Anarchy), Lily Rabe (No Reservations, All Good Things), and Peter Sarsgaard (Flightplan, Jarhead). The film is expected to be mainly a character study, but the match that the story is based on took place in 1972 during the height of the Cold War, which, all together, should make for a pretty impressive watch. The trailer is available here on MADE. Enjoy!

Deep in the shadows of Chicago’s recent Hip Hop boom lies a street wear culture that is beginning to manifest itself into a movement. Established in 2007, Jugrnaut has secured it’s spot as one of Chicago’s premier street wear boutiques. Specializing in brands such as Diamond Supply, The Hundreds, Mishka and Black Scale; Jugrnaut has one of the largest selections of all the street wear shops in the city, they’ve even grown their own brand into one of the most sought after “home growns” in the nation. Up and coming acts including Chance The Rapper & Show You Suck call this place a second home and the highly exclusive Treated Crew (Treated Crown) solely release clothing at this shop, it’s safe to say they’re on the way to the top. The guys at Jugrnaut have come a long way since their doors opened and they aren’t showing any signs of slowing down, if you’re ever by the South Loop in need of fresh gear, this is the place to be.
