It’s been well over a year since we premiered Chicago group Death By Icon’s first mixtape Trybecca, and yet once I began listening to their debut LP Hassah; it feels as if they’ve never left. Not too far from their original foray, but Hassah still commands it’s own unique feel. The pair sound sharper than ever on the vocals, they appear to know exactly how they wanted this one to sound with great results. The production takes a leap forward as well, there are traces of Trybecca but it feels more evolutionary. From the gritty, golden era “Sunderday” to the trap banger “Wake Up,” Hassah has a wide variety of sounds that coalesce rather nicely. Another step in the right direction for a group of artists who deserve to be on everyone’s radar, check out Hassah below.

A couple of days ago, Chicago duo Death By Icon dropped their latest visual for their track “WHT_club”. Directed by APJ Films, the video plays well with the song’s lyrics. Simple, yet cinematic, the visual keeps you interested from front to back, not to mention, the song is pretty damn dope too. Death By Icon continues to drop quality material, we’re definitely excited to see what’s next from these guys.

We at MADE are very excited to bring to you, Trybecca; the highly anticipated debut project from Chicago’s own Death By Icon. For those unfamiliar, Death By Icon is a group consisting of 3 members; Dook (Producer), Vic (Songwriter/performer) & Ant (songwriter/producer/performer). The three have come together to forge a refreshingly unique sound, entirely produced by Death by Icon themselves; it’s nice to see a group of artists with complete creative control. The entire project was also recorded, mixed and mastered by Chris Classick Inumerable of Classick Studios in Chicago; sealing the deal on what may end up being one of 2014 most vibrant albums. We see A LOT of music come our way, every now and then we stumble across a true gem and Trybecca embodies those words perfectly. Check out the full album below and make sure to click the link to download. These guys will be LIVE on May 8th at The Tonic Room, be on the look out for more details regarding the event; until then, bump Trybecca on repeat.
