As we enter the back end of the summer, August is looking like the month with the most things to do. Among major staples like the Minnesota State Fair, Summerset Music Festival and Pizza Luce Block Party, there are also a lot of events tucked in the weeks between. The homie DJ Low will take over Honey on the Thursday leading up to Summerset, the night will include performances from UJU, GainesFM, DJ Low, Rich Garvey & Blamsiss, as well as a few special guests. This one is 21+ and the door is only $5, mark your calendars and stay tuned for more info.

DJ Tiiiiiiiiiip & Bobby Raps will be back at the Record Room this Friday for their “Love Below” dance party. Unlike their Dequexatron series, “Love Below” events feature nothing but R&B jams all night; this one will also showcase a set from DJ Keezy. Sponsored by Greenroom Magazine, this one is 18+ and the door is only $5. With the crowds that these guys attract this shit might just sell out, so make sure to get there early.

The homie DJ Low’s dance party “My Parent’s Bassment” is moving on up to The Record Room for it’s next installment. Last week’s “Half Baked” banger went down well, so it’s only right that the Porn & Chicken guys/gals keep it moving with yet another party. This week’s theme is the ill advised Cosby Sweater. As always, there will be plenty of specials on booz, free fried chicken (while it lasts), and for this one they’ll also have Jello shots on deck. PNC dance parties are always a good time no matter the theme, just make sure you come ready to dance the night away. These are 21+ and cover is only $10, you can click the link below and RSVP via Do312 for NO COVER, check out some of the crazyness

Last Friday, Jugrnaut held their annual Sweatshop Dance Party at Tantrik and it looks like it was a good time. The event featured DJ sets from Matt Boy White, Manny Muscles, Elz the DJ and Just One, as well as performances from Saint Millie and Chandler London. Another good time provided by the good guys at Jugrnaut, if you missed out make sure to keep an eye out for the next one.

If you can’t make it out to Big V’s in St.Paul tonight, then make it down to Honey to check out a rather inexpensive show with Greg Grease and Just 9. The cover, just $3, so make sure to make it to one of the shows. The only problem is, last time we ended up to a ‘dance party’ at a venue, it was straight early 2000’s mainstream rap. This most likely this won’t be the case with Just 9 and Greazy in the building, expect something more than the expected.
This year Greg Grease and Metasota will be hosting the 2013 Audio Perm Dance Party. Expect music by Audio Perm (of course), Ander Other from Doomtree, and Noam the Drummer. It’s $5 to get in, so you really shouldn’t miss out on going for that price.
If you haven’t heard of Audio Perm yet, make sure to peep the video and their site if you like what you hear from the MPLS/ St. Paul natives.
