Warner Bros. studios recently announced that director Clint Eastwood (Gran Torino, J. Edgar) will be leading a new drama about Captain Chelsey Sullenberger and his miraculous and heroic landing of US Airways Flight 1549 in New York’s Hudson River in 2009. Eastwood will be working with producers Frank Marshall (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future) and Allyn Stewart (Man of the House, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) from an adaptation of Sullenberger’s memoir Highest Duty: My Search For What Really Matters by screenwriter Todd Komarnicki (Elf, Meet Dave). Details as to who will be appearing in the film are still unavailable (likely seeing as the film was just announced) but we will be keeping an ear out for upcoming news. Stay tuned!
We have been talking about this one for quite a long time, and now it’s finally here! The long awaited sequel to Frank Miller’s Sin City hits theaters this week, and the producers are eager to see the final numbers for the opening weekend that starts today (Friday, August 28)! Reviews for the film have not been overly satisfying; many have stated that the film is an entertaining watch that revives the stylized violence and cinematography of the original but lacks in a compelling overall story-line. Whatever the case, fans of the original or of Miller’s graphic novel will be flocking to the theaters this weekend, so if you are looking for something to fill in your schedule, I would definitely recommend going to see this one! Here again is the trailer if you need any further convincing. Enjoy!
The new trailer for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For from directors Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez is now on the big screen, and fans of Miller and his graphic novel are definitely in for a treat. Featuring a good portion of the original cast, including Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Powers Boothe, and Dennis Haysbert, the movie also features new-comers Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ray Liotta, Christopher Meloni, and Eva Green, and is also rumored to feature cameos of Christopher Lloyd (Back To The Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit) and Lady Gaga. Director Frank Miller adapted the screenplay from his graphic novel that was the inspiration for the original Sin City film back in 2005. We should see this one in theaters by the end of the summer, so you’ll have to sit tight just a little while longer.
Director Robert Rodriquez is nearly finished adding all the special effects for the upcoming, long awaited sequel to Sin City, A Dame To Kill For, and the film should be able to honor its scheduled August 22nd release date. The original film from Rodriquez and graphic novelist Frank Miller came out in 2005 and featured an all-star cast that includes Bruce Willis, Benicio Del Toro, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Josh Hartnett, Clive Owen, Elijah Wood, and Mickey Rourke. The film was highly recognized at the Cannes Film Festival for its groundbreaking visual effects and cinematography, and with the new film taking so long in post-production, we must be in for even more mind-blowing visuals. The sequel will reunite most of the original cast, and will also add some new faces to the mix, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Eva Green, Josh Brolin, Jeremy Piven, and Ray Liotta. Miller and Rodriquez are also already talking about how to approach part 3, but until A Dame To Kill For is released and box office numbers come in, the fate of a third installment has yet to be determined.
Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez have kept audiences waiting for a sequel to their blockbuster hit Sin City, based on Miller’s graphic novel of the same name. The film included an all star cast including Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, and Clive Owen and reports have indicated that Willis and Rourke will be returning to reprise their roles in the upcoming sequel. Some new names will also be taking on new roles including Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Jeremy Piven, and the film has been set for an August 22nd release date for 2014. There have been some recent changes to the project, including the name being switched from Sin City: A Dame to Kill For to Sin City: A Dame to Die For, which may or may not have some influence on the plot, but with Miller and Rodriguez on the project I doubt fans have anything to worry about as far as disappointment goes.
The good guys over at Jugrnaut will have their “Dame & Marley” t-shirts in stock this coming Sunday. Both versions come in both black & white and are featured in Jugrnaut’s “Summer of Love in The City of Hate”. Check out Show You Suck rocking the Marley tee above, if you like what you see make sure to get down to Jugrnaut this Sunday; these will probably go fast.
Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez are reuniting much of the original cast for next summer’s Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For. Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba and Rosario Dawson will all be returning to the film, as well as some new faces including Eva Green and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. No real details have surfaced pertaining to the plot, but if the direction follows the first film I’m sure there’ll be a good combination of story lines.
